Hotel Guest Reviews of the Gran Melia Golf Resort Puerto Rico

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Food/drink was expensive and average at best. Rooms where musty and humid (air conditioning worked but humidity levels too high).

The variety and quality of restaurants; wonderful breakfast buffet; amazing service; wonderful pool and beach areas; fun night time activities; very family-oriented; wonderful proximity to San Juan and Fajardo

The beach and the pools are very nice. The lobby and public areas are well appointed. It welcomes a diverse, unpretentious client base. The bungalows are rather spacious and airy. Non-stop transport to all areas of the resort by golf cart brigade.
The parking and hotel fees are high. The housekeeping is very late, consistently. We did not like coming back to an unmade room. Housekeeping is not detail oriented, some items were not replaced on a daily basis. But the staff did respond when called.

There are many lovely water features. Outside maintenance is continuous. Very close to the amazing El Yunque rainforest. No on-site water sports, entertainment, or activities. World class golf course.

Beautiful grounds, staff was very nice, pool was gorgeous. Quiet location right on the water was spectacular. Nice that it's away from hustle and bustle of San Juan. Recommendations from the activities desk (incl. local restaurants) were spot on!
Service was PAINFULLY slow all around. Food was also mediocre at best (we tried three of the five main places to eat and were disappointed with most everything we got).

Beautiful well kept grounds, extremely friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean, and the bed was comfy.
Some nights we had hot water and some nights we did not. No water pressure either. The dinner at the resort restaurants were nothing special.

We rented a car. I strongly recommend you do if you want to leave the resort for authentic PR food and to sight see. The resort is located at least a mile from the main road so you can't walk

The pool is great, I love being so close to the beach and the privacy of it. The bed was perfectly comfortable.
They did not make my room the 2nd day, I had trash, I needed clean towels and I like to see my bed done. I called for assistance and they gave me new bed sheets (in my hands, like I have to do the bed.

The parking is not free and it is expensive. Everything is closed at 12:00 am, after this time there is NOTHING to do in the hotel. The pool is open 34 hours but there is no bar open or music or night live at all after midnight. Room service is also until 12:00 am. The food is very good and the open spaces are beautiful, the bed was perfect, but it is too expensive for what you get. The employees are not the best either. I was on vacation and I had to go to bed at 12:00 am, unacceptable. ...read more
