Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Tidewater Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The building & decor was in keeping with the era of the time it was built. The staff was friendly & helpful.
The initial room they placed me in was small and the air unit wasn't working. I had to go and ask for another room. I'm not sure why they didn't place me in the 2nd room to begin with. The room was beautiful.

Charming and beautifully restored.

Its old world character...the look, even the smell, furniture polish, real leather, tablecloths in the dining room.
The bathrooms are small, reflecting the era when the hotel was built, but everything was immaculate. The outdoor bar was unavailable due to road construction but that was temporary.

Top notch, would stay again whenever in the area.

Poor lighting in bed room at the dressing table for women. Insufficient number of clothes hangers in closet.

The hotel was convenient to the art galleries, which happened to be open when we visited. It was also walking distance to the Easton Flea Market and the historic district.
I did not like the noise coming in our room from out in the hallway.

Pros = Appealing hotel, very good security service, near major art galleries, restaurants, pharmacy, chocolate shop, and Frederick Douglass monument. The hotel restaurant served excellent food for dinner. Food at the hotel restaurant is significantly costlier than local restaurants that serve comparable menu. Con = Rooms were smaller than anticipated for the high rate charged for overnight stay. Breakfast was not included with overnight stay, even-though the printed reservation itinerary showed that breakfast was included. One of the daytime customer service staff was very unfriendly and impatient. ...read more
