Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Magnolia Mansion

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Staff was super friendly and accommodating. Bed was beyond comfortable and the tub alone was worth the stay.

Beautiful, words can't express how gorgeous and charming this home is.

The staff was wonderful! When my partner had trouble with the stairs, they moved us to the first floor to accomodate his illness. Every time the owner saw me hauling something into the building, he offered to carry it for me himself.
Breakfast was disappointing - standard continental fare. There are great shops nearby that sell homemade bagels and dougnuts, but they opt for Sam's Club instead. I'd rather see them offer something unique and local than what I can buy for myself at home.

Location for Mardi Gras. Nice hostess.
Basement room one star. No nightstands, pillows approximately same age as building. No place to sit and talk in room. Parking on street. no phone, Cont. breakfast not adequate. Doubt AC will suffice in summer. Send inspector before rating.

The mansion was beautiful and is well kept. It is an amazing historical landmark. The area is safe and beautiful as well. The staff was very nice.
The room we stayed in was very small. It was difficult to move from one side to the other. The bathroom did not have a shower but a claw foot small tub..tall people do not fit. The breakfast was terrible..fruit loops, spoiled milk and 3 day old danishes.

I liked that they offered free wifi, and free breakfast. The location of this bed and breakfast is really great. The staff seemed helpful, friendly, and were happy to answer any questions. The linens were of high quality and felt very comfortable.
The minifridge never got really cold. The bed in our room kept falling out of the frame. The "courtyard" room is a good size, but it doesn't have a view of the "courtyard/worker parking lot). Though the bathroom was new the shower shifted from hot to cold

I feel that this place could be a great stay, if they would just fix some minor things. They seem to be undergoing renovations, and once they finish painting the ceiling of the veranda, and the stones in the courtyard it will look great. The rooms need updated flat panel televisions, this will make the rooms seem bigger, switch from VCR to DVD, bigger trashcans, higher quality bathrobes (they seemed short and stiff). The breakfast, though not made on site, was filling and plentiful. The coffee was great. The dining room is a wonderful setting, but it seems as though the sitting rooms often go over looked by many guests. I really enjoyed the decor of the common area. ...read more
