Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Keating Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Noisy room. They provided earplugs because it was so bad until at least 2 am

Great for party people. It's right in the center of gaslight. Also nice euro feel. If you want quiet forget it. Also there is no work out facility though the ad said there was. I was told to walk a few blocks to the mall and pay for the 24 hour gym.

The staff was FABULOUS. LOVED the music system too.
YES! I did not like the fact that there were no rooms with two queens. It makes the "double occupancy" that was advertised extremely difficult.

We loved it. It was BEAUTIFUL, roomy, had a great view of the Gas Lamp district. The only thing I did not was like the fact that there were no rooms with two queens. Only choice was one king or two extra long twins. Not good for two people that are not a couple... The food was great, the prices were good - except that we had to pay an extra $25 each night for the roll-away. ...read more

Very swank, stylish.
Didn't know of amenities, like the continental breakfast...didn't know about it until my last day and I read the small type on a paper by the front desk. The WINDOWS, I know you have to maintain historical integrity, but the blues/rock bar wasn't muffled.

A very swank and stylish hotel that I would entertain staying at again. The modern industrial finish in the rooms was unique compared to the cookie-cutter hotels that about everywhere. They had very nice and courteous staff. More instruction on amenities would've been good though and the windows in the room need some sort of solution. Historical authenticity is important, but when I can't sleep at 1:00 in the morning, that's not good for a business type revolving around sleep. ...read more

The location was right in downtown, but the noise was unbearable.
The staff was rather rude and unimpressive. From the get go we were astonished by the lack of professionalism. Upon pulling up for valet parking the attendant looked us up and down and asked if we were guests. Just plain unprofessional.

Our trip was highly anticipated based on the reviews of this hotel. However, upon entering the hotel we were met with rude and unprofessional staff who were more interested in checking out the random club goers than with helping us. The room was rather small, but modern. The worst part of this hotel was the insulation. We were on the 3rd floor, but felt as if we were on ground level outside as the noise was deafening. We would not recommend this hotel at all unless travelers liked to be treated rudely and ignored. ...read more

Location is awful, could not get to bed without wearing ear plugs (supplied by hotel, so they knew about this)the bars and strip club on the first floor!! They love to extra charges, did not use their condoms or vodka and still get extra 30$ for location

Stay away from this awful hotel, you will be a victim of extra charges no matter what, I have not used any of room alcohol, condoms (yes condoms!) or candies and still got charged extra $30 for "HISTORIC LOCATION OF HOTEL"!!! No ice machine and they have extra charge for ice??? No workout room!! Strip club on ground level will make your night miserable!! DJ playing all night! Stay away from this hotel if you want to enjoy your SD stay Not for Family or Business at all, it's for SEX! ...read more

Location. Liked the decor and how it was set up.
Had a bit of an ordeal at the beginning. Paid
XXX a month in advance and had them move us to a 3 star hotel because they overbooked their hotel, a night before our stay. Not ok, and wasn't pleased on the customer service the first 3 phone calls.

Had a bit of an ordeal at the beginning. Paid
XXX a month in advance and had them move us to a 3 star hotel because they overbooked a night before. If I hadn't called and complained and asked to speak to a manager I believe that would have been the only way they would have dealt with us which is bs and unfair, especially with the amount of time in advance that we booked and the amount of money we paid. After a huge ordeal in the morning the day before our stay and 5 phone calls later they finally were able to find us a room for the night in their over booked hotel and upgraded us to a suite for our trouble. Once there - the suite was amazing and I liked the vibe of the hotel. Just wish I didn't have to experience all that I did trying to keep my booking in the first place. ...read more

Hotel room was amazing and staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

If you want to enjoy the San Diego nightlife, this hotel is a prime location. The room was funky and different in a luxurious way and the staff was amazing. Great hotel.

If you're going to stay here for pleasure and stay up late to drink or be out till after 1:30am, this is a nice place. But for business don't even think of staying here. TO much LOUD MUSIC....
