Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Heathman Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The bed was amazing, as was the bathroom
The room had no view and the hotel felt a little old world stuffy, not west coast enough.

The hotel was very nice and upscale. We had some problems with some extra charges, but the hotel staff was extremely helpful and resolved our problem quickly.

Perfect location in the center of downtown for a few days of good dining and good films.

Staff was excellent. Made us feel at home. My perception was they truly cared about making our stay wonderful. Our suite was beautiful, spacious, and romantic (if that's what you are looking for).
The room was very chilly. The HVAC system was noisy - had a difficult time trying to fall asleep.

Live music in the lounge and wine tasting in the library.
It would be nice if there was a hottub

Great stay! The staff was friendly and knowledgable, the room was clean and looked as I expected from the photos. The nightly turndown service and water bottle refills were a nice touch as well. Perfect hotel for a couple who loves food and entertainment. Our favorite part was relaxing in the lounge on Wednesday night. We enjoyed live music while snacking on oysters and pate then headed over to the Heathman restaurant for a delicious dinner. Only downside was the rooms were a little too dim so it made getting ready a little difficult and we wished there would have been a hottub. Overall a great experience! ...read more

Great location, excellent room, fantastic front desk staff
The bar and wait staff as the restaurant left something to be desired in terms of customer service.

Great hotel, awesome location. The front desk staff were great, and our room was beautiful. Easy to walk anywhere downtown. We came in to celebrate our anniversary and it was awesome. The only downside was that the service at the bar was terrible. We were there for a long time with very little word from the waiter and it took forever for us to get our bill. The next morning we had the same waiter at the restaurant for breakfast - he recognized us and apologized for the poor service the night before, but the service wasn't a lot better regardless. The food was great, but it might be time to reevaluate the wait staff. ...read more

The location was great. Staff was friendly. Quiet. Private. The two bathrooms came in very handy!
One of the tubs kept backing up when showering. We stayed in the Renaissance Suite; photos made it look much bigger than actual size, but still, it was a very nice room.

Staff was nice and helpful.
The tub in the bathroom did not drain. You had to hold the control for the plug down, so that the water would go down. Our room service in the morning took over the estimated 45 minutes and was cold. Very dissapointing.

Location, comfortable beds.
There was a fire alarm @ 330am that took quite some time to resolve. The staff didn't seem very equipped to handle this. They were obviously frazzled & not able to assist guests appropriately. Since it's not allowed below - the rooms are overpriced!

Excellent location. Heart of downtown. Small rooms, but very comfortable and tastefully designed. Concierge, receptionists, and bellhops were very professional. Breakfast wait staff was attentive and friendly.
Corridors on floors are very dim. Hard to see the key slot on the door. The late-evening bartender and servers in the bar area were brusque. The night receptionist in the lobby seemed put out when I asked him to call a cab at 11:00 PM.

This is one of Portland's classic hotels, with modern appointments. The location is fabulous if you are doing things in the city. A huge number of attractions are within walking distance. The area feels very safe, even later at night. The hotel is well maintained. Rooms are small, but well-appointed and very clean. The hallway lights are too dim--I could barely see the key slot on my door. Daytime staff is excellent. Nighttime crew in bar and at reception could use some hospitality lessons. ...read more
