Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Fort Garry Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

I arrived well before check in & they were able to find me an available room, also the conscierge was a big help getting a cab early in the am @ check out. Cool old building , see new & intricate details everywhere.
No air port shuttle - 20- 25 $ cab trip to the airport

Staff were polite & friendly. Would definitely stay here again.

The location was great.
The room was very old and not in a charming way I felt like I was straying at my grandmothers and it smelt like that too. The furniture was very beat up. The food was not worth the price and the service slow.

Very elegant lobby, excellent breakfast in the hotel, very large hallways, doesn't feel like a hotel chain. Very quiet, access to a great gym and pool. Appreciated the complimentary coffee service to the room
Can feel a bit dated, but we decided in the end that we were ok with that. Parking was expensive so we parked at a meter but had to run out a couple times to feed it.

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The first impression in the lobby is quite grand, but then once entering the room it felt old fashioned because it is. It grew on us however and we ended up enjoying the feeling that we were in a place with a rich history, and not just at another hotel chain. The complimentary coffee service to the room was a really nice touch, and the on-site breakfast was excellent. Pool area and hottub were excellent. Overall very happy with our stay ...read more

The desk staff were very helpful. The atmosphere is really nice. The breakfast buffet was great.
The pool is a long walk and very confusing to find. The rooms were okay, but nothing special.

My real concern about this hotel is all the extra costs I had to pay. I bid for a 2 star hotel and was upgraded to this one. Unfortunately on booking in I discovered there were many extras which pushed the price way up. e.g. parking $15/day. WiFi $5/day. Buffet breakfast $10 if booked on arrival or $20 on the day. Please never upgrade me to this type of hotel again with all these hidden costs. I have always had excellent results with priceline, this is the first problem I have run into. The location is fabulous; you can walk to the Forks and the River Walk; the nightly music and dessert and coffee/tea in the lounge is great; great music and service; complimentary coffee/tea service at any time of the day-you jus call-Great coffee
They did NOT give me the Priceline quote I was promised! The room is cute but smells VERY musty; I burned scented candles which did not help. WIFI is a problem; you have to pay for WIFI access in your room and it only allows one device ata time

They will not give you the Priceline quote you were promised!!!!!I felt cheated on that aspect! I will never use Priceline unless I bid my own price and pay ahead! That has always worked. My quote on paper with a confirmation number was not honored! Otherwise-Great location; can walk to the FORKS; love the history and the old arcitechture but that comes with a price-musty room and terrible WIFI service. Great breakfast; great nightly music and dessert; good service; complimentary tea/coffee service with great coffee and biscotti. ...read more
