Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Driskill

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location and character.
Internet speeds were horrible. WiFi was almost not usable in the room. Loginet television system was down.

Great for a family or romantic getaway. No so good for business travel.

This facility is steeped in history, built in 1885 by cattle baron Jesse Driskill, so that visiting dignitaries to Capitol would have available a nice place to stay.
It's old, and it's musty, and despite efforts, it's in poor repair -- toilet ran all day and night, creating background noise. Bath door dragged on floor, and would not close, etc.

If you want architectural charm and lots of history, and are willing to pay handsomely for same, Driskill is your choice. If you want new, clean, bright and shiny, there are others within a city block which will better please you.

friendly staff
older property. business travelers require more. Slow elevators. Hard to get to your room ("sir, you can either use this elevator and go up one floor walk across and get another elevator or just pull your luggage through the bar to the elevator there")

very clean.
Parking and getting into the hotel.

Clean and I enjoyed reading the history, it is a land mark in the city of Austin.

Great hotel. Classic style, grand appearance. Fantactic breakfast.
Room TV menu/remote did not function properly.

I was very pleased with the Driskill. I will definitely stay there again. The facility is beautiful, the staff very friendly and professional. The hotel is located in a vibrant part of Austin.
