Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Astor Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

We had a fantastic view!
The shower had awful water pressure.

It is a nice little spot that really feels like Milwaukee because of being in the neighborhood. It is well priced and had great views, but be prepared for a bit old world charm.

The location is premium. It's within walking distance of many downtown sites, Water St, and Brady St. The shuttle made getting around very nice. The staff did an excellent job of helping when we had an issue or question.tThe lobby area is very well kept.
This is an old hotel with old rooms that had very old heating units. The bathrooms were very small. The bar and restaurant were closed. This caused us some problems and inconvenience. The parking lot was crowded, and we had a hard time finding a spot.

If you like classic early 1900s architecture, this is a excellent place to stay. The lobby is beautiful and well kept. You'll find the staff does an excellent job, very friendly and helpful. The rooms are small with old heating units and very small bathrooms. This is probably not where you want to stay with a family with kids or teens. The location is perhaps the best feature. We felt safe in the neighborhood. The hotel is located within easy walking distance of UWM and MSOE campuses, Brady St., and Water St. If you don't mind walking .5 to 1.5 miles, you can easily walk to most downtown sites. If the weather permits, it can actually be a nice walk. The hotel also provides a complimentary shuffle service to downtown locations (within 2 mile radius). This was a nice feature. ...read more

The Astor's overall "old feel" was a delightful experience.
There was an ice machine on the main level only.

The Astor is full of turn of the century charm and character. It has lots of details in architecture..
The pedestal sink in our room had a leak that made a small puddle.. Our kitchen had ants when we left food out overnight.

It is a beautiful historic hotel. We have stayed there before and are likely to stay there again.

It was charming.
The bathroom had a ledge that was a little unsafe.

It is authentic to the time in which it was built.

The hotel was close to our son's college MSOE and very well maintained for an older building. We would stay again.
The fire alarm went off at 3:50 am due to some one smoking in the stairwell.

The hotel was clean and very well maintained. We would stay there again.
