Welcome to the Texas Station Hotel And Casino
They say everything's bigger in Texas. So it only goes to show that everything at the Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel, from the gaming floor to the guestrooms, is bigger as well. Well, everything except the price, of course.
This 200-room Texas-themed hotel and casino is located just minutes from the Strip and has enough on-site entertainment to satisfy even the rowdiest cowboy. With close to 100 square feet of gaming space, the gambling hall houses 2,500 slot and video poker machines, 38 game tables, a keno lounge, a bingo room and a 220-seat race/sports book. And try this on for size - Texas Station has a 60-lane bowling alley and an 18-screen movie theater right in the middle of the hotel. Families will love the Kids Quest childcare facility and the oversized outdoor pool area. Guestrooms are oversized, just the way you like 'em. Preferred rooms feature microwave and refrigerator combos, digital CD/MP3 players, and call-ahead service to Starbucks. Speaking of eager appetites, the hotel offers five full-service restaurants and an ample food court. Guests can sink their teeth into a Texas-sized steak at Austins or bite off more than they can chew at the Feast Around the World Buffet. The Whiskey Bar features a bucking bronco, while Club Armadillo offers live music every night of the week. There are also two wedding chapels on-site, if you're so inclined. Additional amenities include a 24-hour front desk, free on-site parking and express check-out.
The hotel is conveniently located close to North Las Vegas Airport and just a few miles north of the famous Las Vegas Strip. Animal lovers won't want to miss The Southern Nevada Zoological-Botanical Park located just a few steps away, or the Nevada State Museum.
Like we said, even the savings are bigger in Texas. Our guests tells us they love paying way less for far more at the Texas Station Gambling Hall and Hotel. "The rooms are large," they say, and the staff is super-friendly.

Family Traveling with Young Children
I was traveling by myself with my 2 & 5 year olds. There is no valet parking for registration, so after much effort we finally got our stuff into the hotel from the parking garage. I then asked the registration attendent if we could have help to our room, but they do not have bellmen. I was told I could use the luggage cart but then I would have to bring it back down, not really happy about this with 2 small children, although they liked riding on it. I get to my room, unload all our stuff and put the kids in a bath. I just want to relax and order room service, but of course they don't have room service. So I took my kids in their pj's downstairs (on the luggage rack of course) and got some food from the cafe. The ladies at the cafe were the the best thing about our stay, they were friendly and nice to the kids while we waited for our food. The next morning my 2 year old wanted to climb in the window to see outside and I noticed that there was a latch on the window - to my horror it opened with no screen, straight down. So now I have to worry about her falling to her death while I take a shower - fabulous. This was luckily avoided and we left for the day. The maids made up our room, but left all the food from the previous night, the next day I left it on the floor so they would get the hint. The room was fine but I will never stay there again. I can get the same rate somewhere else that will be much more convenient. This was more like staying at a motel and having to walk much further to get anywhere. ...

The next time I visit Las Vegas, I will make it a point to seek out a different hotel. I was seriously underwhelmed by the lack of amenities (no room service, no coffee maker in the room, no mini-refrigerator). These seem like the basics, but I didn't find them at this hotel. This is an OK place to stay for a single night, if you're just passing through, but don't come here if you are staying for a few nights. ...

Well I guess you get what you pay for.... Crappy room at a cheap price

This hotel is not anywhere near the Strip, however it is conveniently located just off Highway 95 and only a 10 minute drive to the Strip. Plenty of parking, several restaurants with average to good food at reasonable prices. The Steakhouse offers attentive service and excellent value for better than average steaks. Got the room through Priceline.com. Internet service is extra. Beware! They charge $14 per night "resort fee", which is an absolute rip-off! You get nothing for this fee - this is not a resort. It is an old hotel which offers no services that would classify it as a resort. The weather even prohibits swimming in their shabby, old pool. ...

Again, the experience is lost when talk a deposit and not refund it.

OK for an off strip hotel with newer plastic decor and limited amenities. Staff friendly but sometimes over worked so check in may take awhile. Onsite restaurants OK but Austin's steakhouse over priced for mundane food and 1970 style decor like 2 by 6 room divider.
