Welcome to the Surfcomber Hotel, A Kimpton Hotel
An oceanfront pool and direct access to the beach make Kimpton's non-smoking Surfcomber Hotel a great fit for Priceline guests, who also like the hotel's family-friendly resort atmosphere.
The Surfcomber was built in the 1940s and features its original terrazzo floors and retro decor. Expect the usual Kimpton design flair as well. The hotel has 185 rooms on three floors, with cushy beds and tech-ready amenities like LCD flat-panel TVs, clock radios with mp3 connections, and wired and wireless internet. The spacious and tropically landscaped, heated pool is surrounded by lounge chairs, cabanas and a poolside bar and grill. Step right down from the pool to the beach for a little sun, sand and water fun. Grab a workout in the hotel fitness center, or stroll the outdoor gardens. The hotel has a lobby bar and a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking is available for an additional fee.
The Surfcomber is on Collins Avenue and 17th Street at the northern end of South Beach's Art Deco district. The Lincoln Road Mall pedestrian esplanade is a block away, and Miami Beach Convention Center is two blocks from the hotel. Miami International Airport is 12 miles away.
A beach-friendly location, a family-friendly pool, and welcome touches like in-room bathrobes and mp3 docks make guests feel at home at Surfcomber Hotel, A Kimpton Hotel.

Great Hotel, ask for man at front desk, he's awesome and will take good care of you or your group, and in the Restaurant... Breakfast and lunch.

Strangely decorated, trying too hard to be a boutique hotel without understanding how to pull it off. Not chic.

The surfcomber is a great hotel--and continued to make me likely to stay at a Kimpton. The public areas and the rooms were nice--not something you always can count on in Miami, and the staff were wonderful. The pool is great, but the Saturday giant dance party at the pool (not sure if it's regular) made the pool unusable if you didn't like techno, and definitely unsuitable for kids. So, we headed to the beach, which was fine. Overall, I'll try to stay here again when I visit Miami. ...

As stated in previously, the entire hotel staff was/is nothing short of AWESOME! Not only were they professional, but most importantly. They were down-to-earth. The hotel itself was extremely clean, with the outside grounds neatly kept. With the beach being a hop-skip-and-a-jump away, and located mere blocks away from the action, this place serves it's purpose (and it's patrons) well. Once again, and I can't say enough about the staff, everyone was awesome. From the Concierge/front-desk to the maids. Everyone was professional and friendly. ...

The hotel was in a nice spot right on the beach. The valet charge would have been expensive, but found a lot close by that was $10 cheaper each night. The staff from the bellman to the front desk clerk were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave great directions and made phone calls if needed. The happy hour at the pool was 5 to 6 with complimentary wine was a nice touch! Now for our room, it was decorated nicely and the bed was unbelievably comfortable! The lamp did not work, nor was there a dial tone on our phone. The air was so cold 55 degrees. I turned the warm air on and then my friend and I went out for manicures for a couple of hours. When we returned, the room was just as cold. I had to go down to the lobby, and they sent a guy up. He seemed like he didn't have any idea how to really fix it, and was in the room for about an hour, when I really wanted to get ready to go out for a dinner res. After complaining downstairs again, they gave us a new room and a few drink tickets. The only other odd thing was the shower. There wasn't a door or curtain, so water came out onto the floor, also to turn on the shower you would get wet. Otherwise, the staff was helpful and the pool and attendant were nice. The view was gorgeous and the lounge chairs plentiful. The food was pricey but decent. The view from our room was just another building right against us. That's probably the view all the price liners get. ...
