Hotel Guest Reviews of the Super 8 Luna Pier/Monroe/Toledo Area

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Decent price, and just a short walk from Luna Pier.
Overall cleanliness very poor. Multiple half done maintenance projects in sight. Room was not vacuumed. No one was at the desk ever. Had to call a phone on the front desk and someone would (sometimes) come out of the back office. Lost our reservation too.

the room was nice size
the room could have been cleaner and they need to take pride in their rooms. The Jacuzzi was not clean, the floor was not swept, fingerprints on mirrors and tv.

Leaving.
It is amazing how so many horrible experiences can happen at one hotel.

One of the three worst hotels I have ever stayed the night. Should have heeded the online reviews and simply left and found a new hotel in Toledo. Sleep in you car if you need to save money. The staff do not communicate very well. At least there was yogurt for breakfast, imported directly from Aldi's. The side door lets water in so there is a puddle under the carpet, yuck. Residents/guests are teenagers who party in the hallyways late into the night. Pool is the size of a bathtub. My old tv was wobbling precariously on top of the fridge! A car alarm went off at 4:00am and the guy at the desk said it wasn't coming from the hotel so there was nothing he could do, but he finally called to owner down to turn it off. Hard to do as there are no phones in rooms. Smells so bad, chlorine to cover the mold I suppose. The only hotel in Luna Pier will make it easy to avoid, even if priceline offers it at a low rate. The Super 8 in my town is at least clean as I have friends who stay there when visiting, so I wasn't expecting how horrible of an experience this would be. Some small restaurant options nearby, but not anything appealing due to the over quality of the town. Ended up getting Subway from the gas station. The best word to describe the hotel is disgusting. Avoid! ...read more

It was in the price range we wanted to pay.
It was not as well keep as I thought it should be. There was a riding lawn mower in the hallway by the elevator.

The staff, which consisted of an older gentleman without a name tag who wore flip flops on his feet. The younger man who indicated he was the manager and again no name tag and he also wore flip flop on his feet. Neither looked like they should be representing Wyndham Hotels. There is more; I had reserved 1 room for Friday night. I called to confirm we could get 2 queen beds. The older gentleman indicated that would be no problem at all, they had a lot of rooms with queen beds. On Saturday night, I had a reservation for 2 rooms, again I asked if we could get rooms with 2 queen beds and I was assured that wouldn't be an issue. On Friday when I checked in, everything went smoothly and the older man checked us in (didn't charge me for 2 queen beds). He was very pleasant. When we tried to check in Saturday for the other room, the younger manager was present. He insisted we couldn't have rooms with queen beds because that isn't what we reserved. We could have them if we paid $5 more each room. I asked why I wasn't informed of this charge when I called to make sure we could get queen beds. Needless to say a disagreement ensued. The young manager thought he needed to call 911 because he insisted we be removed from his hotel......without retrieving our belongings from the night before. We left the hotel and I called Priceline right away and explained what had happened and they happily refunded my money for that reservation. I will NEVER stay at this hotel again. I hope Priceline will remove this hotel from their selections. ...read more

The only thing that I liked is that I was able to find a Holiday Inn within a reasonable distance that had vacancies. I refused to stay in such an undesireable environment, with my three daughter.
Location, staff, cleanliness, ammenities and overall condition of the room.(i.e. no heat, plastics sheet covers, smell and mouse droppings, etc.)

I travel quite often and almost always with my daughters, ages 9,7 and 5. I feel that when I travel, I am paying for a service that should provide a clean, safe and enjoyable "home away from home". I have just recently began using priceline for my travel needs, but was extremely disapointed with this past experience. By having to locate another hotel, drive and waste valuable family time with my daughters,as well as being informed that I could not exchange nor cancel my reservation, I feel that I should be overly compensated for the very disappointing experience that my daughters and I shared. ...read more

Should have let you know the pool was out of order however they say they don't advertise it but they did. Otherwise it was near the lake and just a quick drive to Toledo everyday.

Friendly staff
Not really. The new work and upgrade may have annoyed some people but not really that bad or loud. I look at it as making the hotel better.

Right off highway 75 at Luna Pier exit. Not right on the highway so very quiet. travel center / gas station close so you can get supplies. Has an indoor pool also. JUST CANNOT BEAT THE PRICE For what you are getting.
