Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sun Viking Lodge

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Pool and beach access
They put me and my 3 yr old in a small room next to the road. Could hear everything passing by

The hotel is divided into 2 sections. One is a high rise and the other is like a road side hotel. We were put in a room across from the office and under the breezes. Horrible

Our 1st room was ocean front studio, a bath, separate full kitchen/2 queen beds and balcony. We went out of town 1 day and upon our return we reserved an ocean front room with bath, living room/full kitchen, separate bedroom with 2 queen beds, balcony.
No.

Very clean. Newly updated. There is a nice outdoor pool with a 60' slide, a nice in-door pool with a water fall, an out-door covered hot tub, sun deck, shuffle board, basketball court, free computer room and free parking. In the in-door pool room there is a café where you can buy breakfast, sandwiches, wraps, salads. They offer free coffee and muffins each morning. They employ an activity coordinator so there is fun things to do throughout the day. We played 2 games of bingo while we waited for our lunch order. For $1 each we took advantage of the laundry room our last day. You could do as little or as much as you wanted. The staff is friendly and efficient. We loved Sun Viking Lodge. We would definitely stay here again. We recommend it to all others, regardless of your age, with or without children. ...read more

I love that they have two pools. One is indoor and the other is outside with a HUGE slide for all ages!
Its located right on the part of daytona that you can drive on. We have little kids and when the tides are high you are really close to the traffic lanes.

I love how this place is family friendly envoirment. They really cater to all ages. The landscape is beautiful, hotel rooms are clean and staff is really friendly. Love that they have two pools(indoor and outdoors with a huge slide.) My kids loved how we rented special flashlights to use on the beach at night during turtle mating season. The only cons that I have is the location on the beach. Its the part that you can drive on and when tides are high you are really close to the traffic lanes and with little kids that is a hard thing. So we decided to go to the pool around that time, so it really was a BIG deal breaker. ...read more

The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great.
Our room was not only garden/pool view but the room was within the garden/pool view making it very loud in the room because of the activity in the pool area and the smell was horrible from the chlorine. Priceline did not give an accurate description!

Do not book your hotel from Priceline. I would have been better off calling the hotel and learning more about the room. When I tried to call Priceline once arriving at the hotel and wanting to move to another hotel I couldn't get in touch with anyone, I spent to much of my vacation time trying to get someone on the phone at priceline. I was very unhappy with our room however the hotel staff tried to be accommodating but they didn't have any other rooms available and could only help us find a new hotel. ...read more

The staff was very nice. Our family loved the hot tub and the indoor and outdoor pools. The indoor pool was such a nice warm temperature it made the unseasonably cool outdoor temps more bearable. We had a nice stay. Would return.

The Sun Viking Lodge was a great place to stay. My husband grew up vising this hotel every other winter with his grandparents and cousins. Our kids enjoyed it as much as he and his cousins did. The indoor pool is awesome. It was so nice and warm. The outdoor temps were pretty cool during our stay, so we didn't use the outdoor pool as much, but it looked pretty great with the water slide. We spent our fair share of time in the outdoor hot tub as well. The rooms were nice and clean. The pull-out couch slept 2 of our kids nicely. It wasn't your normal awful pull-out. I think the mattress was some sort of memory foam. We brought our bikes, so we enjoyed bike rides on the beach and rode up to the ferris wheel. There are plenty of places to eat. We tried out Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. and Johnny Rockets which were both great. We had a great time and will certainly return. ...read more

Cheap and did the job.
Inside the rooms looked very old.

Hotel was fine if you just need a place to sleep at night. I would not spend much time there.

The grounds were beautiful..close to the beach..friendly staff.
Room on ground floor looking out to the parking area which was 5' away from our window. Could not even see the ocean.

We really liked the facility a lot. We did not like where our room was. We thought what we paid you we would have had a better room..which..after talking with the hotel desk manager, we could have had an upper room with , a kitchenette, a balcony overlooking the beach for less money. We will probably go back, but we will not deal with you. The hotel manager gave us a special card giving us the benefit of better accommodations the next time we came. ...read more
