Hotel Guest Reviews of the Springhill Suites By Marriott Pittsburgh Southside Works

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The room was spectacular. It was far bigger than I expected, with room to sprawl out.
Parking on site is $14/day. I wish I had known that prior. If you don't mind walking about two blocks, park in one of the South Side Works garages for about $6.

The hotel is spectacular, clean and roomy. No matter what direction your hotel room is facing, there are wonderful views of Pittsburgh's South Side Slopes, the Monongahela River, or elsewhere. Be advised though...there is a train tunnel behind the hotel. You will hear the train as it goes by and occasionally blows a whistle.

It was an excellent location. You can get to anywhere in Pittsburgh from this location. The rooms were very nice. It had a very good breakfast buffet.
I didn't like that parking was not free.

Clean rooms and decent breakfast provided as well as a friendly staff.
Train tracks are located right outside the hotel with trains running by all hours of the day. Obviously this isn't the hotels fault but it did cause my sleep to be disturbed.

Everything was great.....

Free beakfast, pool, free shuttle around the city, location
Only 1 waffle machine at the breakfast bar...you really should spring for 1 or 2 more. Also, I got to breakfast @ 9am on a Saturday and you were out of almost everything (eggs, bread, pastries...even the juice machine was off!)

Great updated, large rooms with very comfortable beds. Excellent location near lots of great restaurants, bars and shops, but....
MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR A ROOM AWAY FROM TRAIN TRACKS!! The train runs RIGHT by the hotel and blows its horn every time. You will get no sleep unless you ask for a room on the other side. Also parking is expensive for a location so remote.

Other than asking for a hotel room away from train tracks, the Library bar/restaurant is a great place for late night happy hour and its a short walk on Carson.

Clean, spacious rooms. Privacy curtains around the breakfast area was a nice touch instead of a wide open space. Breakfast was good quality with plenty of variety. South side flats location is nice.
Some of the front desk staff were a bit indifferent and stoic.

Good location, clean, staff very friendly and helpful
Train tracks 5 feet from hotel. Trains went by about 10-15 times between 11pm and 7am, waking us up everytime. Not a very restful nights sleep!
