Hotel Guest Reviews of the Silken Ramblas Barcelona

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great location, nice staff, pretty lobby and restaurant, friendly bartender.
Room was interior opening into a ventilation shaft so view was suboptimal. WiFi was there but slow and inconsistent. Also received unexpected Barcelona tourist charge on bill which, although small (2.42E/day,was annoying.

No major complaints, we would stay there again and I suspect had we attempted to change the room for better view we would have been successful.

Location
Room cleanliness. AC didn't work properly. Thin walls.

Stayed at the Silken Ramblas for 12 days. Not a great experience at all - this is not a 4 star hotel by any means. More like a 2 star hotel that feels like a dirty motel. The pictures of the lobby are quite deceiving as the rest of the hotel does not look as modern and clean. Everything is dimly lit probably so that you don't see that it's dirty. Rooms are far below what would be considered clean. Mold on the barely there carpet. Room not vacuumed daily. AC did not work properly which became a problem because it got very stuffy at night. Mini bar not restocked daily. Staff were ok, but even the days that I put to not clean the room they still came in. I spoke with the housekeeper and she assumed that I did not speak Spanish because she told me that if I wanted the room clean I had to put the green sign on the door. Well, I knew that I didn't want them to come in one day and put the red sign up and they still came anyway. (This was after I realized that it was pointless to have them come in the first place because all they did was make the bed). Overall, a below average experience. NOT 4 STAR. ...read more

Location. Modern room. Clean. This applies only to the "exterior" rooms.
I was charged a City Tax by the hotel outside of Priceline!!! Wifi was problematic! I had to ask for an "exterior" room. The first room I was given faced a brick wall. It was dark, depressing and sort of rundown.

Very good central location close to Catalunya Square in the center of Barcelona, close to all transportation needs, walking distance to main tourist areas, shops and restaurants.
Very noisy room. 2 single beds are joined together causing uncomfortable gap/space between 2 beds. Shower and toilet in next door room was next to our headboard of our bed. every time some one flushed toilet or took shower disturbed our sleep.

I must say location of the hotel is very convenient to all your transportation needs, you can walk to many interesting places in old part of the city. Close to lot of shops and restaurants. My Hotel room #119 was very noisy. Bed was uncomfortable, two single beds were joined together leaving lot of gap between two beds. A couple can not enjoy sleeping together. Every time someone took shower or flushed toilet in next room disturbed our sleep because it was next to headboard of our bed. Hotel room doors were squeaky and noisy. We could hear all the noises coming out of other rooms. ...read more

The location couldn't be better.
The room was so dirty, the hallway was always messy with bunch of their cleaning materials sitting in the hall way all day long.

I didn't have their breakfast, as there was many local bakeries within a five minute walking distance. So I can't comment on their dining experience. I loved the location of this hotel, most staff were very helpful. The hotel room was dirty and very unattractive. It is not the hotel being old or needs some renovations, just the cleaning was not done well. All edges of our room floor were dusty and dirty. ...read more

Great location, clean room, very comfortable beds.
Room was a bit dim (poor lighting).

Loved the location of this hotel - very close to Las Ramblas and The Market area. The beds were very comfortable and my room was quiet and private. The staff was helpful and polite. Great place to stay for visiting all the sights in Barcelona.

Great Staff and great hotel to stay at. Lovely decor and rooftop view.
Carpet needs to be replaced and was not vacuumed when we arrived.

Great location - easy access to all the major sites.

Better than expected. Immaculate beds and bathroom. Friendly and helpful staff. We walked to Palau Guell, Gran Theater Del Liceu, Boqueria, Picasso Museum, the beach, Casa Batllo, La Pedrera, Sagrada Familia, Arc De Triomf, St Maria Del Mar, Columbus monument, Place Catalunya. We took a 2 euro fare bus to Park Guell (too far to walk).

The hotel staff was very friendly, spoke english well, and they were very accommodating.
The hotel rooms were quite noisy. We could clearly hear the romance going on in the neighboring room.

All expectations were met. Wi-Fi is good for travelers without international phones. Hotel was generally clean and the staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable for two, but the adjoining rooms can be heard quite clearly. Did not try the hotel bar or restaurant but they seemed nice. Very convenient location to La Rambla, shopping district, and sites in Barcelona. ...read more
