Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Declan Suites San Diego

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Awesome room. Very clean and spacious. This hotel was located close to the Gas Lamp Qtr, just a few blocks away. Very pleased with our stay. Two TVs, sofa sleeper in living space, comfy bed. Small restaurant within hotel~150 others nearby :)
The drive up to the parking was like a corkscrew and kind of pricey. $29 for self parking for 24 hr period with in and out privileges. Lots nearby for less if you want to walk. The small in room refrigerator wasn't working in our room.

Newly upgraded, pool area still being updated but pool at nearby hotel being offered to guests. Very clean and rooms have a nice layout, french doors into bedroom section. To be 5 star maybe add some granite instead of the tile and a flat screen in the bedroom, but hey, 2 TVs, can't complain. Bed was a firm mattress but have all white bedding and very inviting. Ask for view to Balboa Park. You won't be disappointed. The restaurant was to the side of the lounge offering breakfast buffet or regular menu. Lounge was nice. Store inside lobby for refrigerated drinks and sundries. Room had microwave and in room coffee, hair dryer and iron. ...read more

Housekeeping did a good job daily. It was a 5 minute walk to gaslamp quarter.
Parking was expensive, narrow and horrible to park in. Not enough staff to take care of you all the time. Tv remote wasn't working on one of the TVs.

Overall room is nice.

The room itself is great. Great space and clean.
Further from Gas Lamp then expected. Bar/restaurant area was quiet./boring. Hallways and elevator area were HOT. No room service. Air conditioner only went down to 72 in room. WEAK internet signal and only 1 device was free.

Parking structure is CRAZY - like a solemn course!

Good views with large windows.
The carpet and shower floor were dirty and stained.

The rooms have multiple items in need of replacement: cabinets with peeling lamination, dirty stained carpet, stained shower floor.

Our room was very nice and spacious. We had a great view of the city. Staff were super accommodating and nice to deal with.
Taking two elevators to get down seemed a little silly. Having the lobby on the 12th floor was weird. Parking at hotel is super expensive and it's unnecessary as there's parking around for way cheaper.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again as the location and rooms are nice (specially our room being on 27th floor)

Lobby/ bar was redone and nice
Self parking is via an 8 story circular narrow climb then up another 3 stories of narrow sharp turns. The whole garage was covered in scrapes - we felt lucky to get in and out without any scrapes - and still $30 per night to park. Rooms seemed unclean.

Room furniture was mismatched old/ dusty.

Location
Pool was closed, carpet was dirty, wallpaper was dirty, bed sham was dirty,

It was older and hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in many years. The one upside was that it looked like they were trying to clean and spruce it up.
