Hotel Guest Reviews of the The Declan Suites San Diego

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Conveniently located, clean, rooms are big.
There was no fridge in the room.

The hotel definitely needs to be modernized. The wallpaper in the rooms and the tile in the bathroom are early 90s maybe. The lobby is beautiful and looks recently updated but the rooms are a little behind the times.

Good location, very nice older room, very spacious.
First room had smell of smoke, so we had to move (front staff were very helpful). Also, room did not have a refrigerator, but it came when www asked for it. Parking was very expensive and difficult to access. S/b muffins with coffee in the AM.

The room was great. The view was good. The location was convenient.
It seemed like some of the guests were noisy.

Decent bed
Location, noise, old and dirty, had to call 5 times from room for wifi info and kept getting routed to reservations, had to go to front desk, for the cost and location not a good deal, also not in gaslamp.

We chose this hotel for its indoor pool -- it is too cold in November to swim outdoors and few hotels in SD have indoor pools. We LOVED having a suite for the same price as a room too! Gorgeous common areas. If aiming at 3*, this hotel will please.
Provided parking is expensive - nearly all hotels in SD charge for parking though.

There is a parking lot 1/4 way down the street that only charges $15/night. We used metered parking as we were gone most the day and you don't have to pay after 6 pm. Just read the street signs VERY carefully!

The staff are very nice, and the public spaces are nice, too. The room was spacious. The location is good.
The room had multiple problems. The pull out sofa bed was broken, and one of the lamps was not working. One of the faucets wouldn't turn off. Since the place was full, we couldn't change rooms the first night (and we were only staying two nights).

On the weekend it seems to be a popular place with people going on drinking binges. Saturday night there were loud drunken people in the hallway into the wee hours.

beautiful lobby.
The lobby is on the 12th floor. Expensive parking. Parking is on the 11th floor. The room was old. Mold in the shower.

Public spaces were beautiful.
The room. The said there was a happy hour when there wasn't. They said there was complimentary coffee at 6:30, there wasn't. The room we were initially assigned to was unmade.

Don't stay here.
