Hotel Guest Reviews of the Sands Inn & Suites

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Close to downtown SLO and free way 101, lots of parking, and friendly staff.
Someone in the room next to me started doing maintanence around 8:00 AM. There was periodic hammering in that room over several hours, making it hard to sleep. I was also right by the stockroom for the maids & they were super loud this particular morning.

Great hotel overall, I always stay here & I'll stay here again.

I booked a queen room & I was upgraded (for whatever reason) to a king room. The Staff was very friendly & helpful.
The wall A/C unit made an odd sound when I ran it. It cooled down my room well though but it was a little hard to get to sleep initally.

It was really easy to check in and out. There was something wrong with our room, so they gave us a suite when we paid for a regular room. That was awesome. The breakfast was amazing! The staff was super amicable!
Some of the outlet plugs weren't working in our room. Not helpful when girls need to do their hair.

Overall, it was great and I would come back any day!

The staff
Bathrm sink plugged up. Ants in bathrm. Spider on wall. Awakened both nights by 2 men talking VERY loud on property beneath window and awakened one of those nights by music all night.

First, when I booked the room I did not know it had only 2 stars. When I checked in I asked for an upgrade and was given a suite but had to pay an additional $10. per night. Bkfst was decent. Pool area nice, but sign saying "nobody with active diarrhea in past 14 days was allowed to use the pool" was shocking and a real turn-off even tho we had no intention on using it anyway. Bathrm was not acceptable with ants, a sink that would not drain and a dirty bathtub. I found a hair in the place that holds the soap and the bottom, while scratched, also appeared not to be very clean. Also ants in kitchen. When staff brought Raid to us and we sprayed, that took care of ants. The staff was wonderful and immediately responded to our concerns. We did not report the men with loud voices until we left because we were only there 2 nights. Did not expect the second night to be a repeat of the first, but it was, and did not want to call during the night as we would then be up all night and unable to go back to sleep. We asked the front desk staff to go and see the area we were talking about as there were chairs there and staff indicated employees took breaks there. ...read more

Very friendly staff. Complimentary breakfast was better than expected. WiFi a little sketchy, but they offered solution that worked excellent. Very close to Cal Poly...
Pool needed to be cleaned...

This hotel was VERY clean!! The room was clean, all of the public areas were also very clean. The lobby, breakfast area, and pool area. Although we did not have time to use the pool.
There was absolutely nothing we did not like about this hotel!

The room was very clean and smelled fresh! The hotel staff was very friendly and let us know everything that was available. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage, make your own waffles, fresh fruit, yogurt, cold cereals, pastries, muffins, oatmeal, juice, and coffee. The breakfast area was kept clean and stocked. They offered movies to view in the room at no charge. The room had a refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. We were there for a wedding and it was about a mile from the hotel. This is a great location. Close to downtown and right off the freeway. The hotel was very quite. I would highly recommend this hotel for all travelers, business and leisure. I would definately stay at this hotel again! ...read more

I added an extra night and the staff made it really easy and were incredibly friendly.
The wi-fi was incredibly slow and I needed it for work.
