Hotel Guest Reviews of the Rum River Motel Princeton

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The woman at the front desk was very kind.
The first room (switched rooms because the heat didn't work) was pretty beat up (frayed carpet, holes in the wall where doorknobs hit it, and paint chipping from the bathroom ceiling). The second room was a little better.

The entire hotel, including both non-smoking rooms I stayed in, smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. As stated, the baseboard heater in the first room didn't work, but it took more than 5 hours before the second room felt reasonably warm. Though I was warned it would eventually become extremely hot in the room if I kept the thermostat on high, that never came close to happening. A continental breakfast was advertised on Priceline, but there wasn't one. The wifi signal was pretty weak and my phone kept switching from wifi to 3G because the signal kept going in and out...good thing I didn't need to use a wifi only tablet or laptop. I understand it's only a 1 star hotel, but the reasons I chose this hotel was because it was extremely close to a conference I was attending, had free wifi and an advertised continental breakfast. Poor service or lack of service on 2 of three items advertised should make this a 0 star hotel...maybe 1/2 a star because the desk person was extremely kind. I also didn't know there was another hotel in the town...I would have gladly paid the extra money and been further away from the conference for a warmer room and the other items mentioned. ...read more

nothing, location was nice that's about it
We were on bootom floor & windows didn't stay locked, bathroom fan hanging down, outdated, stuck in the 50-60's,heater didn't work, sheets were dirty, thin & worn out had patches on them, reception area stunk bad,big bulky old TV could been easily pulled off mo

Have stayed in hotel's that cost less and were nicer! It's way outdated, nothing a bulldozer wouldn't fix.Good thing there was a Walmart close by so we could buy are own bedding set after getting 2 dirty sets from staff, bedding set cost as much as the room did!Only got 1 towel,1 little bar of soap no shampoo or conditioner, heater didn't work and were on bottom floor a window wouldn't lock!!!Bathroom fan hanging down from ceiling!Stains on chairs & carpet, stink held up by 2x4's,front office had a god awful smell!Priceline should refund my money, website said this was the only Hotel in Princeton but there is a newer AmericInn there!!Would never stay at this Hotel again!!!!This place should be on nobody's list!! ...read more

not much. located near good resturant. close to highway.
dirty carpet. No room service. Only 1 towel. pillows hard. Breakfast skimmpy. Wall paper peeling & torn. Large black spider in the bathtub.

although the price was low, this motel was not a great expperience. I have stayed at much cleaner upkepy places for less money.

The room was mid size and clean. The manager did offer me somethign to eat twice when I came in late. The coffee was free.
The door to the room was thin. It did have a dead bolt, however it still did not give off a secure feeling. only two pillows and two toels

For the price the hotel is clean and resonable. Its not a best Western or confort inn, however. It is a place to sleep.

manager was very friendly and wanted to be helpful
housekeeping is forgetful or not in communication with management

although friendly, management had us down for the wrong number of nights and the wrong number of people. as a result of this, each day I would remind the manager that we didn't have enough towels, etc, and each night we would come back to the room only to find that the problem had not been solved. I finally gave up and bought my own towel, face cloth and wash cloth. the manager was thorough enough however to call me two days after we departed to tell me I had left a bag of kettle corn in the room and he would hold it for me until I could get back to get it! ...read more
