Hotel Guest Reviews of the Robin's Nest Bed & Breakfast

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Décor. Owners were great. Very friendly
The room over all was good, but could have been cleaner as under the bed was dusty

Nice grounds with Wild Turkeys! The other folks staying in the B and B were nice. We would definitely return.

The overall charm/personality of the inn and the personal service provided by the proprietors.
Yard/setting not as well kept as it could have been (the photo looks a lot better). Outdoor furniture looked tired and worn and a little neglected; basically not very inviting. In general, there was TOO much decor going on. Location ok.

Although the exterior of the place needed a little more care, (and it looked like they were working on it because there were ladders propped up all over the building), the room was clean and tidy and very comfortable. We stayed in Cirque, which was decorated with numerous clowns in addition to the flowery furnishings and bedding. A little more cluttered than my taste prefers, but in true Victorian style I guess! The VERY BEST THING was breakfast. We were there Sunday when breakfast is served at 9am for everyone. The tables are set and seating is arranged so you meet other people. (as opposed to showing up whenever you want and sitting wherever you want). While the DELICIOUS THREE COURSE breakfast was served, we enjoyed a wonderful conversation with the two other couples at our table. Breakfast ended up being 1-1/2 hours long. I think this was truly an extension of the hospitality provided by the owners themselves. I enjoyed the little touches like fresh plums and cookies in the sitting room; port and sherry offered (even though I don't drink). And they provide wi-fi, music, and tv in the rooms. Water pressure is excellent, considering the age of the house. One last note: We had difficulty finding the place, but that's because we did not read the final print at the very end of the booking page which warned not to google directions. So just be sure to read everything! ...read more

Hotel has a lot of character.Hosts are very friendly.
Our room was small but we paid accordingly. No complaint really.

Very nice B&B; good breakfast. Friendly hosts. The setting of the B&B is pleasant with gardens and trees. We recommend it highly.

Our visit was a family gathering in San Andreas, occasioned on short notice by the death of my eldest relative. The location was ideal for our needs in this situation. Its exceptional staff, great food, and reasonable cost were wonderful added benefits.
No - our visit was based on need, but our needs were fully met, and any expectations I had beyond that were far exceeded.

The Robin's Nest is a period home, built for a newly-married couple long ago, and much later expanded to accommodate a B&B. The owner-innkeepers, Bill & Karen, are delightful conversationalists, gracious and considerate hosts, gourmet cooks, and deeply respectful of the privacy, needs and preferences of guests. They offer delicious breakfasts with sittings at 7 and 8 and 9, according to guest preferences; and they accommodate their guests' dietary preferences. The various rooms are suited to romantic trysts, family groups, frisky seniors like ourselves, and discerning and experienced travelers. The decor is well-matched to the vintage and architecture of the house. Each room has a private bath, and each is furnished with a unique Canadian heater that offers light, radiant heat, and no danger of burns to guests of any age. The B&B's location provides easy access to the many attractions of the county seat and its surroundings: spectacular vineyards and oeniculture, surprisingly varied and excellent restaurants and wine-sampling venues, several caverns, river rafting, fine skiing, lovely lakes and seasonal water sports, the Big Trees--one thing I'd not miss!--and Stanlislaus forest. San Andreas is also the location of PAWS, a world-class refuge for large animals, including elephants, lions and tigers rescued from distressing situations around the globe; and the Robin's Nest offers quarters to those coming for the several occasions throughout the year when PAWS opens to visitors and animal advocates. The region is redolent of history related to Black Bart and Mark Twain (and the jumping frogs of Calaveras County) and Yosemite. San Andreas is easily reached from San Jose, San Francisco, and Sacramento; and it is NOT directly related to the well-known geologic discontinuity of the same name; in fact, one of the signs at the edge of town declares, 'Welcome to San Andreas. It's NOT our fault.' I recommend the Robin's Nest uncontionally! ...read more

Beautifully decorated! The breakfast was exquisitely presented and delicious!
The sink in the room was small.

The best place to stay in San Andreas! This is a lovely old Victorian mansion that is beautifully decorated. The bed was very comfortable with soft flannel sheets. Attention to detail was everywhere! The innkeepers love what they do and it showed. This venue would be great for a wedding or family party. The grounds are lush and green. Although San Andreas is a small town, it is located near many attractions. We were very impressed with Robin's Nest! ...read more
