Hotel Guest Reviews of the Rivera Motel - Pico Rivera

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The price was reasonable. It wasn't in a bad neighborhood. The bed wasn't bad. There was a neat black light in the room, and when you looked up there were stars on the ceiling.
There was a towel that was a little dirty in the room when we got there. The staff was nice, but they were hard to get to the desk. They were in their office in the back.

You get what you pay for. It was not a bad hotel, just not great. It is a good place to be if you just need a room for the night. The neighborhood isnt bad. It was mediocre.

Affordability; bed was comfortable; shower worked well.
Too few television stations; The default station was in Spanish (after shut-off, reverted to this one); Lighting was inadequate.

This motel provided bare - bones accommodations for a low price. The overhead lighting was poor – I had to bring a borrowed lamp in order to read a book or magazine. There were too few of my favorite TV stations available on their TV hookup. The bed was very comfortable and sheets were very clean, but the bedspread and curtains were 30 years out of date. There was a fridge, but no microwave. The ice machine cost a quarter to operate but gave a lot of ice for the price. It was on a busy street, but it was convenient to groceries, liquor stores and restaurants. The street noise was minimal, although some light sleepers might be bothered by the train I could hear in the distance. The main reasons I wouldn't stay here again are the dim lighting and the limited number of TV stations.

Check-in/out speed.
Odor and condition of furniture in room.

It's ok, but I have been in other cheap hotels and had better experience,
I was glad I only used this hotel room to sleep and leave the next day early.

The staff was nice

The first room we were in had no air, it was so HOT, so we tried to open a window, which was Plexiglas. Then there were bars on the window, kinda scary. So finally we got so hot we asked to move to a new room so they did. That room was nice and cool. The new room had toilet paper stuffed in the peep hole, I would assume because it had been broken out, and the door knob itself was missing we just had a little knobby. Kinda funny. ...read more
