Hotel Guest Reviews of the Ramada Gaslamp - Convention Center

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Room was small but had a lot of character. View from the rooftop was lovely. Also, the bed was super comfy and the location was perfect.
The elevators are pretty slow, but it really didn't matter much to me. They're old so that's to be expected.

If you stay, make sure you eat in the restaurant that's attached to the lobby. Great food! And for a very decent price. It's 24 hours so that's awesome as well.

Close to the GASLAMP area.
Rooms and shower stall were on the small side. Did know this when booking.

The hotel has done a wonderful job in updating.

Being at that location.
This hotel is very old. The elevator was so small and it gives you the creeps. You have to pull open a door, then push open a heavy gate to get in. When you go to your room, you can't open the door all the way to push the cart in.

When we went to open the door , we couldn't open it all the way because the door hit the bed. The room was very small. If that gives you an idea about how small the room was. And the shower was half the size of a normal shower, this hotel is more like a motel 6. And there is a $20.00 parking charge per night that you will have to pay unless you park outside their parking area but you will have to keep putting quarters after two hours. ...read more

location and friendly staff
room was small.

Hotel is in the entertainment district which is good for being near eating establishments but not good because the noise of the night life could be heard till wee hours of the morning

The location, right in the heart of Gaslamp, was excellent. It was just a couple blocks from the Metro too, which made it very easy to get around San Diego. The entire hotel had lots of character, and the staff was really helpful.
The elevators were the old time style, with a gate you had to open. They were obnoxious most of the time, though they did add character. The room was tiny, but that was fine.

staff was very friendly, clean room, location worked good
Room size was small and worked for one person but two people would be cramped.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff was great, the room was comfortable. The cleaning was done well. The location is within the walking distance to all the major attractions in downtown. The restaurant attached is open 24/7. Great times!
The only thing I did not like were the elevators. I understand that they are charming and fit the hotel style well but you need at least two people to hold the two doors when getting in and out. They are also very tight.

Such friendly and helpful staff.
The fitness room was poor with two very old machines, but there was the option to use a full gym in town.

The complementary upgrade was phenomenal!
