Hotel Guest Reviews of the Radisson Hotel Detroit-Bloomfield Hills

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location was great for the Palace venue. Pool and hot tub were clean. Typical hotel workout room and all equipment was in working order. Front desk was helpful and offered extra toiletries. Overall very nice stay. No extra frills. Safe neighborhood.
The advertised 3 restaurants/bar is false. Two of those businesses have closed. There is one remaining breakfast/lunch restaurant and they had excellent food! In fact, most patrons in the morning were locals including many police officers. Good sign!

staff was very helpful; exercise room contains a good quality elliptical trainer. 32 inch LG television was satisfactory. Several stations available, about 25.
bandwidth was 1.2 MBit/sec, speedtest.net Certainly ought not be called "high speed". Motel 6 offers 3 MBit/sec, for example. Most business folks expect minimum of 10 MBits/sec The bed was VERY uncomfortable. If Motel 6 rates 4/10, this bed was 2/1

location is inconvenient, difficult access for someone unfamiliar with Detroit metropolitan area. To go North, one must first travel South. To go East, on must first travel South, then North. For local residents, it is perhaps not so mysterious. No breakfast, no dining room, no microwave in room. Parking lot pavement is run down. Exits poorly marked for vehicles. This is a one star hotel, in my view. ...read more

Located in a quiet neighborhood.
The hotel itself needed some updating.

Hotel is clean and quiet. It is a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Parking lot seems to flood during rain storms but otherwise everything was excellent.

It is away from things, so it makes for a quiet hotel...while it was still close enough to Somerset Collection & Great Lakes Crossing for shopping. It is also close to Birmingham for decent dining options.
It is starting to show its age. More control in the pool area would be appreciated - e.g. horse play (dangerous if people slipped and fell) i.e. ball throwing and throwing people into the pool, drinking of alcohol.

The hotel in general is decent. One thing that I have always wondered about is why the front signage is not that evident. The Radisson sign faces TOWARDS the street, so in order to see it, your car will be driving right in front of it. The hotel is situated just at a part of the street where there are trees blocking it from view until you get close to it. So more direct signage that can be seen from further away would be appreciated, especially when the street is a 50mph speed limit road. ...read more
