Hotel Guest Reviews of the Quality Inn New River Gorge

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The bathroom was renovated recently, so it is pretty good and comfortable.

Very clean, great location with all the attractions and where I needed to go. Breakfast was GREAT! Easy to access internet. Quiet, great nights sleep.

This was a decent hotel. Clean, comfortable and I felt safe. I am a young woman and traveled alone. I stayed for two nights. Slept great. No issues. Very good breakfast with good hours. Internet access was very simple and easy to use.

There wasn't a lot to like about the hotel.
The carpet was worn and there was a lot of debris around the edges. It made the whole room feel dirty. The air conditioner would run until it was freezing cold and then shut off until it was uncomfortably warm in the room.

This hotel is dated and needs some attention. I was sorry we didn't pick a place a bit further away from the Gorge, but nicer. I won't stay here again.

The staff were great and it was an excellent location!
The 1st room smelled horrible! They ended up moving our room. The AC is very outdated and smells. Even a rm that had the AC "deep cleaned" smelled. They breakdown and sometimes leak back into the rm on the carpet creating moisture and odor in the rm.

The 1st rm smelled, however, the staff were very courteous in moving our rm. We freq asked questions at the front desk and they were very helpful and friendly in answering all questions from how do I get to an activity, good place to go for a run, to where is a store where I can buy...The hotel is conveniently located near everything. I have a 16 yr old son and we had a great time in the area. Went on the bridgewalk, ziplines, golfing, hiking, and my son's favorite rock climbing. We didn't get to mountain bike or raft. Many activities have for different ages so they don't have to be teenagers to enjoy. The hotel has breakfast with a variety of options (healthy and less healthy depending on your preference). Great for fueling up for a busy day. We were pretty busy and didn't spend much time in the room. We just needed a clean place to sleep and shower. ...read more

The staff is friendly and helpful. Denise and Ester at the front desk did everything they could to get me into the room I wanted. Free coffee 24/7 and the complementary breakfast were good. The pool was clean and inviting. Plus they're pet friendly!

The Quality Inn New River has had a lot of work done to it in the last few years. It's got a good location in the New River Gorge/Fayetteville area for kayaking, rafting, rock climbing, SUPing, hiking and biking. Many great restaurants nearby such as Cathedral Cafe, Pies & Pints, Diogis, Gumbos and Secret Sandwich Society. Next to the property is a Dairy Queen. McDonalds, Taco Bell, Wendy's, Tudors and KFC are within a mile or two. The staff, from the front desk to the maids, are all friendly. The pool is clean and inviting. Free breakfast. I've stayed here before and I'll stay here again. But it is a 2 Star hotel. If you're looking for opulence this isn't going to satisfy you. If you're looking to experience all that this area has to offer and want to rest/recover in a quiet, clean room with good beds, free wi-fi (with good speeds, coverage)and cable (including HBO), then you might have found your place. There's other hotels that are newer in the area, but they're not pet friendly, which is a big point for me as I often travel with a dog. TL;DR- Good value, good location, friendly, clean, pets accepted. ...read more

The continental breakfast and the restaurant/bar right behind it.
I left some clothes in a drawer when I left. I remembered like four hours later and called immediately. Unfortunately, a man checked out the room before the cleaning lady could clean it. He told the desk there was nothing in the drawers. THERE WAS!!!!

Front staff most helpful especially when I called regarding my forgotten clothes. They checked and even rechecked but my feelings are the man who checked the room before the cleaning lady has some nice shorts and other clothes now. I take responsibility for leaving them, just wish I could have gotten them returned. But the stay was pleasant, staff nice and people in the general area friendly. ...read more

Yes..the water pressure in the shower was the weakest I've ever used in any bathroom.

Would stay again if I was assured the water pressure issue was resolved.
