Hotel Guest Reviews of the Puerto Azul Resort & Club Nautico

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Let’s start by saying, the glistening 5 story building with stunning views is NOT likely to be your hotel. The actual hotel is a modest two story building. The room was clean and simple. The breakfast was good. The pool and bar as pictured. Very ni
You’ll probably won’t want to walk off the property as the area seemed questionable. (This is based on my Midwest standards). The grounds are secured by a gated guard.

Best location in the peninsula, peaceful, cab&local bus service to downtown and cheep. Very friendly staff, kitchen open almost all day. Good bar and swimming pool.
Wish they had arrangement for coffee and cold drinking water and wifi in the room. Wifi only in the lobby. But front desk lady was nice enough to help us when we needed some thing out of the norms.

Very good place for couples who want to go and relax and forget the world.Good swimming pool, spa, restaurant for breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar by the pool. Mr. Rodriguez is the best bar tender and waiter. Pool with good surroundings. Surrounded with tall palm trees and local flora. Beaches couple of hundreds yards from the property, but not that clean. For good beach one can take a local bus for 370 colones(less than a $) and enjoy the beach and activities in down town Puntarenas. Very nice local and respectful people on the streets and in restaurants. One can enjoy good food local as well as from around the world. ...read more

The hotel was overall very nice, especially compared to others near the fishing pier in central Puntarenas where the bus terminal is. Never made it to the peninsula end,or where the ferry takes off from,so I cannot compare to the far west end area hotels.
The hotel itself was great.BUT the playa close to the hotel was absolutely atrocious, abominable, littered with plastic and junk that had drifted in during high tide. It seems there is no respect for the environment and is not cleaned up by anyone.

The staff for me was really a highlight. All exceptionally nice. Mucho gusto! The pool was very clean and nice. Bar area terrific. Grounds well kept up. Nice marina if you come by boat. Also nice to view the marina from the bar and pool area. Very clean and good sized rooms with comfortable beds. And nicely priced. Second floor rooms also have a veranda. Only drawback was the trashed beach. ...read more

The hotel was very close to the ferry to Nicoya Peninsula. The hotel was extremely nice with lovely pool and outdoor area...the staff was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was very poor and run down around the hotel.
The neighborhood was very run down and nothing was within walking distance as far as markets, etc. We did drive to a little market quite a ways towards the ferry and bought a few things...no problems. The people in town were very friendly.

The hotel had a wall around it and was protected by two guard gates. There was a nice marina with quite a few yachts anchored, a big green area, huge pool, outdoor tables and a poolside bar. We had a nice breakfast the nice morning outside on the patio near the pool. They had WiFi, free parking and the room was very clean and had a door that opened to the pool side. If you are going on the ferry this is a very good place to stay. ...read more
