Hotel Guest Reviews of the Planters Inn

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Great location.

This is a beautiful hotel within the historic district and close to shopping and restaurants, and next door to The Older Pink Restaurant. This is a great place for tourists to stay.

Location, service and Southern charm.
No.

Located in historic downtown on one of the scenic public squares this hotel is within walking distance to both the market place and river shops and restaurants. The valet parking was very reasonable and a historic tour was arranged by the hotel. They picked us up at the door. Very convenient. The room was spotless and decorated in an antique style. If you want a relaxing stay with southern charm, this is a great place to do it. ...read more

They were extremely helpful to us. Sent us to a great restaurant and set up a tour for us.
Honestly, nothing.

The hotel is located in the historic part of the city, only one block from the water and shops. There is a parking garage right across the street so it is very convenient and the staff was extremely friendly.

Wine and cheese reception.
There was nothing I didn't like.

The hotel lobby and rooms were beautifully furnished. Hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating - offered some good suggestions on what to do and where to eat.

Loved the bed and furnishings! Great period pieces seemlessly integrated with modern conveniences.
Street noise from parking garage next door men using blowers at 9pm to blow leaves and debris from the lot.

Excellent location with superior service from valet to front desk to cleaning staff and staff who prepare the breakfast buffet. Front desk staff always available to assist with directions, tickets to local events and tourist info. Next door to The Older Pink House which is an excellent restaurant, great seafood with wonderful history! The afternoon wine and cheese reception is wonderfully presented and served and is a great opportunity to meet and greet other travelers and sometimes locals. Breakfast is average, but served in an elegantly appointed, if extremely warm room on the mezzanine floor. ...read more

Beautiful, historic hotel in the heart of the historic district. Convenient to the river and parks/squares.
It took one hour to work through check-in. On top, hotel checkers were not service-oriented at all.

Beautiful small historic hotel in the heart of the North historic district. Only two blocks from the river - near many restaurants / bars. Extremely clean lobby and rooms. Nicely decorated. All-in-all a great experience and well worth the stay.

The pics on internet.
Management: we paid for the room.

The parking attendant took cash from our group and then we were charged on our credit cards for parking. Also, we were told that we would have queen beds when we called, but then when we arrived there were only kings available. We were charged for roll-a-way beds. Very unsatisfied!

The hotel is in a perfect location, just blocks from anything we wanted to see.
The fire alarm at 7:30 am was not in the brochure! It was just a broken water pipe and the front desk would not answer the phone. City.

The hotel was just as pictured. Breakfast was not just a continental breakfast - it was very good. Staff was on the spot with everything.
