Welcome to the Park Place Hotel Traverse City
A terrific downtown location, rooftop bar with sweeping bay views and a grand style make the historic Park Place Hotel Traverse City one of the most popular area hotels with Priceline guests.
This historic 10-story tower dates back to 1873 and was once the tallest building in town. Today, its 140 non-smoking rooms are furnished with Victorian flair and feature a refrigerator, premium cable channels and high-speed internet; some rooms offer balconies and bay views. A fitness center and sauna will put you in vacation mode. Dine at the hotel restaurant and then sip cocktails in the lounge overlooking the bay or on the candlelit terrace. Purchase souvenirs for friends and family at the gift shop.
Nestled in the heart of downtown, the Park Place Hotel is two blocks from the boutiques and eateries on Front Street and three blocks from Clinch Park on Grand Traverse Bay. Stroll four blocks to historic City Opera House and five blocks to check out the Inuit sculptures at the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College. Drive two miles to shop the bustling Village at Grand Traverse Commons and two-and-a-half miles to explore the Great Lakes Children's Museum. The slots at Turtle Creek Casino are 40 minutes east and the Old Mission Point Lighthouse is half an hour north, with wineries sprinkled along the way. Cherry Capital Airport is four miles away.
With "classic styling," a "hopping" rooftop bar with bay views and a location "in the heart of the old downtown," the Park Place Hotel Traverse City is a gem, according to Priceline guests.

Staff was very helpful and the location is wonderful because it is walking distance to a lot of places.

The hotel is old, but very well kept. I love the character of historical places. The room and bedding were very cozy. It's located in the heart of downtown Traverse City, so it's easy walking to shopping and restaurants.

The location of this hotel in downtown Traverse City is great for all downtown needs. There are numerous restaurants, pubs, shops, and stores all within walking distance. Parking, for this time of year, was easily accessible. I understand that that may not be the case during times of higher tourist traffic. Although I did not use any of the in-house dining facilities, they were generally busy and reasonably priced. The workout room is adequate and the pool is large and rectangle-shaped for swimming laps if one needs a water workout. I would certainly look to stay here again if I had a reason to be in downtown T.C. again. ...

Great old school hotel experience with a bar that overlooks the bay.

It¿s not a 3 star hotel, it¿s barely 2.5 stars.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Traverse City. It has very friendly and helpful staff. The beds were comfortable. Plenty of shops near by for those who like to browse.

Park Place is an iconic hotel that has dominated the TC skyline for a long time. It is well kept, 1 block(!) from downtown, and parking is free. There is the older tower (8 floors), and the newer section (2 floors). We stayed in the tower, and although rooms are smallish, they are delightful. One surprise: Going from our 7th floor room to the lobby took seconds! This is one advantage of a tower vs. horizontal motels. Nice. Place is well kept, staffed well, and as up to date as a hotel of this age can be. WE LOVED THE PLACE. Rooms are stylish, comfortable, and quiet. Views are awesome if you're higher up. Although we didn't make it up, the Beacon Lounge is a bar on the top floor that has picture window views all around. You can get pizza and desserts too. Nice feature. They have a domed pool on ground floor. Didn't try it. An added treat was room service from the restaurant onsite, Minerva's. We didn't want to trek out in the cold to get supper, so we consulted a GREAT menu in the room, ordered, and it was at our door in 20 minutes! Aside from the cost of food (reasonable) they added an 18% gratuity. We normally tip 20% at a restaurant, so this was quite a deal. Food was good, and breakfast is available too. By the way, room service is romantic! You WON'T get a free continental breakfast.. not that kind of place. Minerva's serves breakfast if you want it, or get room service from them. Appreciated the thermostat. The HVAC unit is not in the room, you can set the exact temp, and it works well. After wrestling with those noisy 'units' in every motel in the land, this was nice. Wi-Fi is available, but needs work. Kept losing signal, and others have commented on the same. I'm sure they will fix it soon. CONCLUSION: I don't want to stay anywhere else when in TC. And we've stayed in this town often since our honeymoon. First time in the Park Place, and we can't wait to get back. ...

Excellent. Would recommend.

The hotel was fantastic, however Priceline and the hotel both charged our account for the price of the hotel. Upon contacting Priceline, they indicated that the refund request would be looked into within 5 business days. Additionally, the cost of the hotel was more when booking through Priceline. It would have been less expensive, by almost $20, if we had just walked in to the hotel and booked a room. Priceline has no price guarantee once a room is booked. ...

I would expect a bit more for the price.
