Hotel Guest Reviews of the Omni La Mansion Del Rio

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

They charge $50 on your credit card when you check in, even if you don't use anything and it isn't refunded until 3 days after check out. Also they were a little snotty about me having a "priceline reservation" . The desk clerk was rather rude about it in front of the next guest standing there.

The location was fantastic! My first trip to San Antonio.
The room was small, noisy. It was a stormy night, there were French doors at the end of the hallway near our room that kept slamming closed when the wind direction changed had trouble sleeping due to the noise.

Love the architecture and atmosphere. The staff was very nice and helpful!

It was on the riverwalk, literally. You walked outside and onto the riverwalk..
Only valet parking ($35 plus tax?) on the premises, but public parking (for a smaller fee) was just across the street so not bad either.. The swimming pool was not very spectacular but once again it was ok, no biggie..

Staff was wonderful, location was perfect, short walk from everything! The bed (king size) was very comfortable.

We loved the access to the River Walk...central location and easy access. The beds are comfortable, and the rooms are quiet.
I thought the room was small for the price. The in room cabinet was stocked but to expensive along with other benefits such as in-room movies and room service. We used a CVC store for supplies to avoid high costs with the hotel.

The hotel is a converted school from days gone by so it's historic but old. So it's a little wild getting around in and gives you the feeling of being in a college dorm building. It has a Spanish feel to it with red tile floors, historic decor, and open but covered passages. The hotel is very quiet and the beds are really comfortable, but a king bed room is smaller than in a comparable room at a Holiday Inn Express. Access to the hotel from the airport is expensive and they offer NO shuttle. Leaving you with the choice between taking a very expensive shuttle at $20.00 per person or a taxi. The staff is very nice and accommodating. We loved the large screen play of Sponge Bob on the wall by the pool for kids on Friday night. The food is pretty good and above average but so was the cost. The business center charges to use the computer...I thought that was a little over the top. If costs for what I believe should be complimentary services are not an issue I would cautiously recommend this hotel. ...read more
