Hotel Guest Reviews of the Omni Chicago Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff was extremely nice and we're always available at the bell hop station to give info and directions. They even told us about a parking garage across the street for half the cost of what they had. I was very impressed by that.
We expected a refrigerator and a microwave in our room and a much nicer looking room for a 4 1/2 star hotel. There were SO many additional fees at the hotel. 65 dollars a night for parking and 65 dollars a night for authorization fees.

The staff was very kind in person. There were way too many additional and unexpected fees upon arrival of the hotel. The pool and hot tub were extremely small which made it very difficult to have small children that wanted to swim on vacation. The restaurant was SO expensive and there was nothing that the children would eat. I took my 8 year old and 6 year old, and it was not a kid friendly restaurant. There was a "free hotel vehicle" which we thought was great, until we tried booking it and were told it only operated until 230 in the afternoon and you could only use it once. So we couldn't utilize it for dinner or any evening activities. Our beds were turned down when we did not ask for the service and a tip was most definitely expected of the staff. We felt it inappropriate for it to happen without our permission. They entered our room while we were out and about in chicago. We came back to the hotel and found our beds turned down. There were just SO many things we were unsatisfied with, and expected so much more out of a hotel on the magnificent mile. It was average at best. We had brought many of our own beverages and snacks to keep in the refrigerator and popcorn for my children during the evenings, and there was no microwave or fridge to keep things cold or pop our popcorn. Those were all extra fees to have in your room. Just silly. I suppose that's what you get in a city like chicago. Just wasn't expected. ...read more

Rooms are suites which is nice, however the room we where given was in rough shape.

At first I was excited that my bid was accepted and I was upgraded from a 4 star hotel to a 4.5 star. All down hill from there, Your greeted by the staff upon arrival as a Priceline customer and assigned a room that would be close to a 2 star. Room was dated and badly worn, bed was a double and the tv in bedroom was still a tube, with no reception. If, the Omni , does not like Priceline customers don,t take the bids, it makes for a bad experience for all of us. ...read more

When asked about the view we were told it was "limited"... The view was a brick wall of the next hotel.

Everything was wonderful. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay with such a perfect location.
No - everything was wonderful.

The Omni in located on Michigan Ave. a couple of blocks from Water Tower Place, where the Lego Store is located. It was so nice because we were within walking distance to everything we wanted to do. When we left, we walked around the corner and were able to catch the 151 bus to Union Station. Saved us a lot of money on cab rides.
