Hotel Guest Reviews of the Ohana East

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Just 5 min walk to beach, free wifi on room, pool, clean, spacious room (had room 300), hotel located next to restaurants and shopping street, hotel staff very helpful and friendly (especially Joshua, keeps up front desk standard)
The room next to the elevator might be for some people a bit disturbing, although i could not complain and got a good sleep

The staff was great and able to help with just about anything. The location was also great and it was easy to get just about anywhere I wanted to be, including the beach.
It would have been nice to have a bath tub, but the shower was nice.

The Ohana East was a nice hotel and exceeded my expectations. It is not right on the beach, but it's only a five minute walk, so that's not an issue. There are plenty of places to eat near by and many locations within walking distance. The room was big and the bed was comfortable. I arrived early and the staff was able to let me check in early. All of the staff I talked to at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. All in all, I would stay there again if I was in the area. ...read more

Clean room with comfortable beds. The room had a mini-fridge and a coffee pot. When we asked for more coffee or an extra blanket the staff took care of that right away. It is tricky to know where to turn in for parking but we were always able to find a place to park. Parking fee is not included with your room. Location is good - close to Waikiki Beach and what used to be the International Market Place. This is our second visit to the Ohana East and I would not hesitate to come back if they keep their prices reasonable. ...read more

the location. free trolley rides, close to good cafes/restaurants/convenience store
the wifi wasn't too great; it took 20 minutes to get it running with the help from tech support

Parking was not well marked as to its location. No Valet and only one Bell a Captain. The room we had was right next to Elevator and we could hear it all night long. No place to eat Bathrooms are extremely small

I personally think this hotel is over rated...possibly a one star. I would not stay hear again.

Great proximity to all of Waikiki's hot spots. Two blocks to the beach.
Needs a major update. The bed felt like it was many years old and completely worn out. The decor and furniture seemed a bit dingy.

I guess you get what you pay for. I'm used to getting something updated and a little more luxurious for the price of aboutxxx per night, but everything is just really expensive in Waikiki and Ohana East is just a more bare bones affordable hotel even at this price-point, when compared with most others in the vicinity. This hotel needs a major update. It still has the old box televisions and old mattress. All that said though, the staff was friendly and the room seemed well sound-proofed. Cleaning service seemed adequate. Don't plan on luxuriating in your room if this is where you stay in Waikiki. Get out and enjoy the bars and restaurants in the other nicer hotels a few blocks away and use the Ohana East for sleeping. ...read more

The room was always clean.
The front staff were the least friendly I've experienced.

The location was good, close to everything.
We booked a room with king or queen size bed, but we were given a room with double bed even though we asked if a room with king size bed is available at check in. They tried to convince us the double is a queen size bed.
