Hotel Guest Reviews of the Northstar Resort

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Turned out the 'room' I got was a privately owned Condo with a full kitchen. Such a nice surprise.
Nothing

Such a lovely location, plenty to do and since it was the off season when we traveled it was really quite.

The bed was a murphy bed, who still has that ?...and it was not a full queen...we were disapointed

We had to pay to use the pool and gym !!!..that was not in the contract

Very comfortable room, immaculate. Seemed well stocked. Comfy Murphy bed in our condo'.
Traffic heading out of resort was backed up because of chain control on main road, 40 min to go a half mile. Need more exits from the resort! Otherwise no complaints.

Price was perfect
Location was hard to locate after hours

All is there, but this really a studio which is rented out. Tim

The staff were very helpful. It was a very family friendly place that offered lots of activities that appeal to children. The recreation center pool was a ton of fun for my children.
The air conditioner was not working in the room. The condos were dated.

Because this is a 3-star property, do not expect any bell service. Be prepared to move your own luggage in/out of your room. This could be a problem if you are booked in a 2nd or 3rd floor condo where there are no elevators. The village rooms have elevators and a luggage cart making it much more convenient. The recreation center was very fun for my children. They loved the swimming pool and lap pool. ...read more

The room was a whole condo. Very comfortable with everything we needed-- even a beautiful deck with a gas grill!
Our particular unit was on the road side and we heard traffic noise in the morning. Watch for location near the main road and avoid that.

I was pleasantly surprised a how lovely the room was. Also we were given a packet with free lift tickets so we could go up and hike on the Lake Tahoe Trail. It was really fabulous. A perfect stay and a great value.

The overall Northstar area is lovely.
These condos are very old and dated. We had to walk a pretty long distance from the parking lot and then up three flights of stairs with all of our luggage.

The condo is old and dated. The distance from the parking lot to the unit is pretty far. The bed is a murphy-style pull down and there is no air conditioning. The pictures on the web site don't fully represent these units. Our condo was clean and well-stocked, but we feel that it would be better suited to young skiers. There was a deck in the rear with a barbecue which faced the forest. We liked that. We don't feel that this property deserves the 3 stars that was indicated on the Priceline. Even their own website has it at 2 1/2 stars. Over all, it was okay, but we wouldn't stay there again. ...read more
