Hotel Guest Reviews of the Mirasol Copacabana Hotel

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The roof top patio with swimming pool, fitness center and sauna was an excellent location to relax and enjoy some magnificent views.
While the desk staff was well versed in English it was difficult to communicate in the restaurant. The lack of English in restaurants is a common issue in Rio, but there was never a problem in getting a good meal.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Mirasol Hotel and I would definitely stay there again. The room I had was modern, well maintained and clean. The breakfast and dinner buffets were extensive, fresh and not expensive. The desk staff was very helpful and communicating with them in English was not a problem. I also couldn't ask for a better location. The Mirasol is located just a couple of blocks from the Copcabana beach and about two blocks from the Cardeal Arcoverde Metro (subway) station. The entrance to this Metro stop is located in Praca Cardeal Arcoverde. Note that Google Maps locates this Metro stop much further away than it actually is. The subway is THE way to travel to all the major areas in Rio. Taxis can also be taken and they are not very expensive. The hotel staff will gladly call a reliable cab for you. Since the cabbies do not speak English, I would advise carrying several of the hotel cards with you. That way you can just give the cabbie the card and he will take you back to the hotel. Security at the hotel was very good and I never felt unsafe. There is a safe in the room, but you need to tell them you want to use the safe when you check-in. There is no extra charge for the safe, but they need to give you a special key to activate the safe. The key needs to be returned when you check-out. Overall this is an excellent hotel and I highly recommend it. ...read more

The staff had great suggestions on what to do and how to get there. The breakfast was great. The view from the swimming pool on the roof was great.
The closest beach (Cabana) within walking distance was quite dirty. We liked Ipanema much better, but it was easy to get there via subway.

The Mirasol was perfect for our stay. I would go back there. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The staff was just great with wonderful suggestions and tips on where to go, how to get there and the best time to see the sunset, etc. The breakfast that was included in the rate was fantastic, lots of variety to choose from with quiche, bacon, all sorts of breads, fruits - wonderful coffee and hot chocolate.

Staff was friendly.
Noisy!

It was very noisy with guests coming and going from their rooms, could hear everything going on in the air streets, and the conditioner.

Excellent service, friendly helpful staff, perfect location near beach and subway, great restaurant. LOVED IT!
Wi-fi was weak except in the hotel lobby, but they did have in-lobby computers available (at charge per minute).

From the moment I got there, the staff was attentive, friendly and helpful. The rooms I had were clean, comfortable and secure (in-room safe available, too). No screens on windows made me curious at first, but oddly enough there were just NO mosquitoes let alone houseflies in my whole stay. The breakfast buffet is great with large variety of entrees, sides and beverages. The rooftop pool and workout rooms are clean and well maintained with wonderful views. The staff had many multi-lingual employees who were very indulgent with my attempts at muddled Portuguese, too. I loved this hotel and the staff made my stay a delight. Definitely a place I'd recommend for both the first-time visitor (as this was MY first time to Brazil) as well as the more seasoned Rio visitor. ...read more

Good price, convenient location, spacious room, good service.
Not much -- it was very busy.

Mirasol is three blocks from the beach, very conveniently located to the subway and all the attractions of Copacabana. The price was about half what the hotels are on Avenue Atlantica, and the room was spacious and nice. Great view from the top floor. Good fitness center.
