Hotel Guest Reviews of the Midway Inn South Lake Tahoe

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Good location with many restaurants within walking distance.
A lot of road noise from Hwy 50 20 feet away. Stains on the bedspreads and carpets. No A/C requiring the windows to be left open, however, they don't have screens in all windows and this increases the road noise.

The location was very close to stateline and Heavenly shopping center. Von main highway.
Very dirty. Would not bring my wife or daughters. If you need a place to stay for cheap. This is place because of location. But bring your own bedding. Mattresses were pretty gross.

Located fairly close to the attractions and casinos.
The room could have been cleaner. There was no a/c and no ice machine.

As stated above, the hotel was what i thought it would be. 2 star hotel close to all the attractions. The room was adequate in that we were at a concert and didn't anticipate spending much time there. the room was a little dirty, plastic cutlery under the bed and a dirty trash can. No big deal. There's no a/c in the rooms and no ice machine at the hotel. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful. ...read more

Location
I booked for two nihts and after the first one, there was no heat even though it was below 0. I asked the front desk for help and he came by then started giving me a hard time about it.

Just don't.

Location - Very close to Heavenly Ski Resort and food center
Security

The hotel is very close to Heavenly Ski Resort and food center. The heater is very powerful so I could dry my clothes/shoes/gloves easily and quickly. However, be careful not to hit it to prevent getting burned. The big problem at this hotel is the security of the room. The door lock is too old so it sometimes does not work. I had to lock and check a few times to make sure that the door was really locked. Besides, there is no lock for the window in the bath room. Luckily, my room was on the 2nd floor. Next time, I will bring some door/window alarms just in case. The bath room is rather small. The TV has a DVD drive but there is no remote control for it. I had to change the channels/volumes by pressing the buttons directly on the TV. The microwave is very old too but it did a good job. ...read more

They are a pet-friendly place to stay, and those are not so easy to find. If the travel itself is not so arduous as to preclude the possibility, I try to take my cat with me when I go away on vacation.I discovered by accident one year that my cat is more
I have absolutely no complaints about this place. Rooms were reasonably priced and clean. I was able to book one through priceline.com without much advance notice and they were willing to allow me to stay with my cat. The management was friendly and what

This hotel is conveniently located and has plenty of parking available. The managemen is friendly and helpful and the prices on the room are quite reasonable. For those of you who don't want to spend too much extra money on eating out for every meal, rooms come with a coffee maker, a microwave oven, and a small dorm-size fridge. I like to have plenty of cold sodas or juice available and I prefer to have sevral small snacks ina day rather than eating larger meals, so I really appreciated being able to make my own food back at the room. I'd rather save my money for spending on other things than eating out when I travel! They accept booking through several in ternet travel sites but seem to favor priceline.com so that's where I'd suggest you fgo to book a room a The Midway Inn. If you like to keep your travel costs down so that you can afford to either take a longer vacation or engage in more activities when you are taking a trip, this is the place for you. If you want lots of luxury extras like a health spa on the premises or mini-boutiques and champagne room service, then you wopuldn't look at any of the kind of places I'd review anyway because that's just not my lifetsyle. ...read more

Staff was helping.
There is much noise, if someone is not used to of noise he cannot sleep in the night.

The best thing for this hotel is that its not costly. Staff there is very helping. In the neighboring room there was a dog who was continuously disturbing one of our friend because his bed was near the wall where that dog was present and the dog was continuously rubbing the wall using its foot pad which creates annoying noise. When we went to staff at late night for this issue, he provided us another room and it helped a lot. But the bad thing about the hotel is that since it is located on a highway, there is too much noise and those cant sleep who are not use to of the noise while sleeping. ...read more

Pet friendly.
Uncomfortable, noisy, and small.

The manager was very nice and the room was clean, and it's pet friendly. That's about all the positive things I can say about this place. I didn't get any sleep due to the uncomfortable bed and loud street traffic from Tahoe Blvd. The walls are paper thin, The shower is built for a midget, and the "continental breakfast" consisted of a prepackaged danish from Costco and a juice box. Very unimpressed, I won't stay here again. ...read more
