Do not stay here when there are 3 other options in the same area.

I selected this room for a weekend trip to Atlanta for a music festival at Piedmont Park (Music Midtown), mainly because of the combination of price and reviews/ratings from multiple sites. I will not stay here again in the future, even if I have to pay significantly more. The location is pretty good, with a grocery store and small shopping center just down the road and a Marta station less than a mile walk away. The hotel and room was clean, but the room is fairly small and crowded for more than 2 people. There is breakfast provided but it is sparse and you're better off going to the bagel shop down the road. Our room had no hot water for several hours on the second day, and the person at the front desk told us it was a 'known issue that happens sometimes', with an offer to move us to a different room if it still wasn't working within an hour. 'Known issue' leads me to belive it's something that can be fixed but ownership is too cheap to spend the money on. The shower curtain is too short for the curtain rack, so the bathroom floor floods anytime you take a shower. The main issue I have with this hotel however, and the reason I won't stay there again, is the lack of security. There is a small 'room' when you first enter the hotel, with a second door you have to go through to get to the hotel lobby, with a card reader and a sign that says you will have to scan a valid card key after 11:00 pm to gain entry. Both nights I stayed there, I was able to gain entry without a card key, along with other guests, either because the door was just unlocked or staff at the front desk let us in without verifying registration. On the second night, a random, un-registered person was given a card key to my hotel room without having to show ID. All they had to do is say they lost their key and the room number. Thankfully, the person was a friend who lives in Atlanta who came by to visit, but the thought that anyone can get a card key without verification is very disturbing ...

Very nice hotel for two Stars, I personally would rate it higher. The Staff was excellent and the accommodations were more than adequate for my needs.
