Hotel Guest Reviews of the Microtel Inn By Wyndham Janesville

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

I paid very little for this room.
It was so dirty that I left after 5 min. I used points to stay across the street.

Awful.

Location was about the right distance for us to stop after a day's drive, away from the hussle of Chicago.
Very noisy from other inconsiderent visitors, work staff, etc.

The price was great but, we got what we paid for.

LOCATION
SNOTTY DESK PERSON, FILTHY ROOM, BEDS LOOKED LIKE THEY HAD BEEN SLEPT IN, HAD RESERVED FOR THREE PEOPLE AND THEY Gave us a room with one bed. Said we would have to contact Priceline to solve the problem, it wasn't their problem.

Have stayed there before but never will again. We had asked for first floor because they have no elevator, the room they gave us on the first floor had one bed. We had reserved for three people, yeah three adults in one bed, and not husband and wife either. Well after awhile they decided to give us a room on the second floor which had two beds, so we took it as we were very tired. Well the room was filthy, it hadn't even been vacumned, looked like the beds had been slept in, just gross and it was freezing in the room. Definetly do not remember it ever being like that before. ...read more

Great location
-Bedding was visibly stained and condoms (unopened, thank goodness) fell out of the bedskirt - Unhelpful and unprofessional attendant - Smoking clearly happening on second floor and staff did not care

This trip was rough. First, the bedding in my mother's room was visibly stained (clear white sticky stains on the sheets and cover (NOT kidding). I went downstairs to notify the attendant about the bedding, and she was a few feet from the front desk talking on her phone about how badly she didn't want to be there/wanted to go home/hates her job. Once I got her attention and very politely told her about the bedding, she suggested I bring it downstairs and get clean bedding. So my mom and I lugged the sheets and cover downstairs prepared to show her the stains. However, she was on the phone again (this time I think it was at least to handle something associated with the hotel), and we stood there for five minutes, during which she never turned around at all to gesture or acknowledge we were standing there. We gave up and put the bedding behind the front desk and picked up (hopefully) clean bedding from the cleaning room to the right. We put our bedding on ourselves, which was fine, but she never called up to the room to see if the new bedding was clean/acknowledge we were ever there. Then the next afternoon, there was obvious smoke wafting through the halls of the entire second floor, making all three of our rooms stink of smoke. We thought this was odd since it is a "smoke-free" hotel, but when we informed the staff (a different attendant than the one we tried to interact with about the bedding), they dismissed the idea that anyone was smoking without showing a care in the world or even walking upstairs to smell the obvious fumes, and that was that. The attendant with the bedding was working at night on Friday, November 15. However, there were staff members who were very helpful and friendly working shifts on some of the other days, so I wouldn't say that everyone was rude. This was just a rough stay....also my first and last Microtel adventure. ...read more

NOTHING
Yes everything.

This is BARELY a 1/2 star. It was filthy, the staff was unfriendly, the common areas were gross, the breakfast was junk. If I wasn't with my husband, I would have forfeited the "deal" I got from Priceline and gone to another hotel. I didn't feel safe or comfortable in this hotel. Priceline you should be ashamed of yourself as should Microtel.

Easy access, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby, and close to Interstate. 12pm checkout later than many.
Tiny rooms, hard bed.Continental breakfast pathetic, mostly cold food, muffins, ect...no hot pancakes or sausage.

A decent, mostly clean, relatively quite place to stay, but rooms are tiny and bed was too hard to sleep well. Breakfast was pathetic.

The price and the location.
It did not have microwaves or refridgerators in all of the rooms.

Overall it was not bad at all. It was your typical basic hotel. It was not expensive, it was clean, the bed was good, and the location was great. If all you want is a basic clean cheap hotel room for a day or two then it is perfect. The room was VERY small, but as I said, if it's just for a place to stay for a night or two then it was fine. The only drawback was that there weren't refridgerators and microwaves in all of the rooms. We had a fridge but no microwave. They said they are currently upgrading their rooms to include these things, but it was a minor inconvenience. We just used the microwave in the hotel's breakfast room. ...read more
