The view of the river. That was pretty much it.
Lack of cleanliness; rude staff.

Where should I start? I had to ask for a room change since the first had a strong smell of smoke. I spoke to the front desk person, who told me that that was impossible, since they were a ¿100% smoke free facility.¿ Thank you for making me feel I was lying! My experience with all of the staff was similar ¿ arrogant, not friendly at all. Twice I was given wrong directions to get around the city. Internet is NOT included ¿ and nope, I won¿t pay $25 per day extra. My room was never vacuumed; and the carpets are black, which hold an impossible amount of dirt. I had to wear socks during the entire time I was there. It was gross. For
XXX a night that was really not what I was expecting. Cheap furniture ¿ mostly plastic. I had already paid for the booking and spent a lot of time exploring the city, but at least it would have been nice to have a clean place to go back to. I expected so much more from this place. The location.
Only amenities were shampoo and soap, restaurant food inedible and both got food poisoning from room service food.

We would never stay there again. The rooms were sparse and extremely overpriced. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everyone around us quite clearly. We are members of the Accor group of hotels and have stayed at many different ones which were excellent. The Brisbane Mercure hotel atmosphere was that of a business centre or office (except there was only one computer in the lobby). ...read more

Location - it looked over the Brisbane River.
They would not allow us to have extended nights at the same rate.

This hotel surprised us with the grandeur of the rooms. We did not expect a sitting room in addition to the bedroom. We liked that there was a small fridge and a microwave in the room.
