Melia Caribe Tropical All Inclusive

I'm a repeat customer and reviewer. I have been to this hotel no less then 20 times in the last 2 years and my observations have not changed significantly from each visit. My overall rating for this hotel is 9 out of 10. The value for the money and the experience (for all inclusive resorts)is excellent! The one area of variation is the buffet...while overall it is great, there are times when the variety is not that great. There may be a correlation between seasons...I've not really paid it enough attention. I've read some reviews from other traveler's that complained about the staff at the hotel because of the "limited English". In my experience at reception I've always been met with either English or Spanish. The first thing that I think of when I hear these complaints is "...you're in a Spanish speaking country, what language should they speak...?" Your experience will be greatly enhanced as long as you keep an open mind and it is your intention to have a great time! The only problem you should really have is what kind of weather you will have when you arrive. This hotel is close to airport but you don't get any off the noise. its close to any number of good restaurants and shopping. Its easy to get to.

I have stayed here twice and really enjoy the place. I stayed this time for my wedding and it was perfect our wedding planner was amazing! She made our day perfect!

Overall, it was a great stay, the room, staff, and grounds exceeded my expectations. The food wasn't the best but hey, it all inclusive and the drinks made up for it, you can find better food in the a la carte restaurants. My two brothers and I met locals on the beach who helped us plan excursions off the resort, One of the guy was helpful with where to go and where to stay away from, he set us up with an ATV/buggie excursion that was the highlight of our trip. We had a junior suite for our accommodations. We also signed for the royal service. This allowed us to use a separate pool and dining facility. The service staff was very helpful and friendly.

This was my fourth trip to The Melia, it's always a great experience. The staff is great and the management is very serious about making sure the staff is 100% customer friendly. I do have a complaint, the staff never resolved a "non-working" phone in the room for 5 days! I tend to bring a positive attitude with me so it takes a lot to make me un-happy. overall you will love this hotel and it's ammenities! ...read more
