Hotel Guest Reviews of the Meliá Barajas

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The location to the airport was exceptional. The rooms were great with lots of accessories and a great bed.
There was a musty smell about the bathroom perhaps mold. Room 147. It may have just been me as my wife did not complain about it, and she is not shy in that regard.

Location close to the airport
Rooms are rather small and outdated - room was really hot and heating/cooling system didn't work

Nice location near the airport and good breakfast
The shuttle bus is crowded in the rush hour

Everything is better and hope staffs could get more English practice

. A 4-star staff attention, lobby, pool and outside surroundings. . Definitely a 3-star room quality (clean and spacious); carpet needs replacement and walls painting. . Has airport free shuttle-a nice plus. . I will come back if prices are favorable.
Food and drinks are more expensive than similar hotels (breakfast 12 Euros).

A fare price for a 1-room/one person would be ----Euros /day as of 2015.

location is fine, just a couple minutes from the airport. About 15 minute walk to the metro is ok. Shuttle to and from the airport was fast and easy.
Yes, the room was poor, the bathroom smelled like sewage, the room temp is set to 78 degrees, very hot, you can control the temp, I had to open the window to try and cool down room but then all you hear is freeway traffic noise. Never again.

Not 4 star, no way, no how except in the prices! $8 for glass of orange juice, $29 for breakfast! $5 for soda My bed was as hard as a rock, it had one pillow that was 4 feet long! A unipillow, a first in 75 countries I've traveled to. How do you get comfortable with a giant hard 4 foot long pillow? The heat was horrible, even though it was nice and warm in Madrid the heat was on in the room, it is set at 78 degrees, way too hot for me. The only way to cool down the room was to keep the window open and hear the constant loud rumble of traffic. A real 4 star hotel allows the guest to decide comfortable temperature in their room! Never again. I would pay double for better room. The prices on food and drink are more suitable for 7 star hotel in Dubai than 40 year old airport hotel. I feel priceline let me down on this one. more

The room was spotless, comfortable and very quiet.
Staff was not good at explaining amenities and room specifics.

Overall a great place to stay if you need to be close to the airport. Very clean, very quiet, nice large rooms. The breakfast buffet was amazing and a good deal!

Close to the airport
Priceline had said there was free parking, but the hotel charged us 10 Euros to park for the day

Could walk to the metro, takes about 20 minutes to get into the city centre.

All was fine. No complaints.

Close to the airport.
Not close to the Metro.

Clean, comfortable room and friendly staff. Meal prices were steep and the hotel is the only game in town (not many choices very close by). Metro a good five minute walk. The outdoor patio was gravel with uncomfortable plastic chairs. Not a bad experience, but I will look elsewhere on my next visit.
