Hotel Guest Reviews of the Marriott Long Wharf

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Staff were superb. I was already placed in a wharf-facing room before I asked! And I was next to the terrace and pool area. Fab-looking exercise area but I did not have time to use it. Noticed tho, that there was a lovely bowl of oranges on offer.
Shame this is listed as a 3.5 star hotel. I know there is specific criterion used to this designation but it was well above my expectations.

Perfect location and wonderful public spaces. Nothing was too much trouble even when I wanted a martini served waaaay off in a corner of the lounge area. I did not take the water ferry from BOS but I noticed one of the boats came in directly opposite the hotel. I'll do that next time! Aquarium is but a minute across from the wharf; be sure to stop in there, esp if you have managed a coupon to reduce the entrance fee. Had a early dinner at The Chart House, again a few steps away from the hotel. That too exceeded expectations. ...read more

Location is great, easy to reach, and also great surrounding.
No free internet in rooms

Overall a nice hotel in a very convenient and nice location. Of course every "add-on" (e.g. breakfast, WLAN,... ) is not included (as you would expect for such a hotel). Major drawback was the room smelled quite molded, and was not prefectly clean. Staff was nice. Did not try any food on-site. WLAN is free in public spaces. Good service for storing your luggage on check out day if needed. ...read more

Leaving.
The dark, dirty "interior" room.

This place is awful. On arrival, I learned that parking would be $48/night ¿ highway robbery. It only got worse. At check-in, the clerk insisted that because I had made my reservation the same day, the only available room was an ¿interior¿ room. This wasn¿t accurate by any stretch of the imagination. I made my reservation the day before, at which time nothing was disclosed about an ¿interior¿ room. I¿ve never heard of such a thing. In fact, there¿s no mention of any kind of ¿interior¿ room in any advertising for the hotel, whose main selling point is its location on the Boston Waterfront. (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/hotel-photos/boslw-boston-marriott-long-wharf/) Furthermore, I saw an exterior room being made up as I passed by. I surmised that for Marriott, a customer who prepays is mud. The condition of the ¿interior¿ room reinforced that impression. To begin with, it was a disabled access room ¿ which I did not need. I complained that I¿d lost a longtime friend who did use a wheelchair just a few days before and that putting me in a disabled access room rubbed salt in the wound. From Marriott¿s lack of response, I surmised that hotel management could not have cared less. The room¿s condition only reinforced my impression that I had been fleeced. The ¿interior¿ room backed to a common area, had translucent glass instead of windows, and looked like a cave in the morning. Even in the dim light, there were several obvious and disgusting issues. ¿ Visible lint on the floor made it readily apparent that for Marriott, vacuuming is optional. ¿ The bedskirt had a large stain of indeterminate origin. ¿ The sheet had a hole in it. I am at a loss to understand where this place gets its 3.5 star rating. Advertising the hotel as such ¿ not to mention selling rooms based on that rating ¿ is blatant consumer deception. ...read more
