Hotel Guest Reviews of the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The views were great, room very nice, the bellboy and valet were extremely helpful with information.
The front desk wouldn't change an American $20 even though they previously admitted to getting American tourist money regularly, I believe they could have made change so I believe they were dishonest when they said they couldn't.

Great hotel at a great location, on subway line, walking distance to Bell Center, 15 min walk to Old Montreal which has, dare I say, a more vibrant night life than New York, Boston, and Denver.

I like that it was located pretty close to everything downtown. As it's only 2 blocks from the train station, it's a good hotel for anyone taking the VIA Train.
The hallways on the room floors looked a bit dated. Prices for food in the restaurant and bar were a bit prohibitive as well.

An older building (built in the 60's) so not as stylish on the outside as some others, however most big chain downtown hotels look a bit dated. The semi-circle windows look a bit odd from the outside but provide a nice view. Washrooms are a bit small and you have to wiggle around to get in and close the door. While there is a restaurant, lounge and a Starbucks on site, aside from the Starbucks eating in is okay to do once but no more. I had the buffet breakfast on my 1st morning there, but when taxes and tip are factored in, paying $30 for an okay but not outstanding buffet breakfast is not worth it. There is a Cora's 3 blocks away as well as a McDonald's and Tim Horton's located at the train station nearby. The lounge at night is typical for business-focused hotel bars. Free WiFi is only hi-speed light, and while one shouldn't frown upon something free, I tried to video Skype my family and we could barely get a picture. Might be worth the $12.95 per day for the hi-speed service. Staff were generally pleasant and the overall look of the place was good. It's not a modern hotel by any stretch and a far cry from some of the other Marriott's I've stayed at (Downtown LA comes to mind), but still good. I'm not sure I'd pay full book rate for it, but the Priceline deal I paid for was fair value for sure! ...read more

Nice location. Hotel was clean. Staff was kind.
Rooms could be bigger for price range. Also bathroom set up is odd. Cannot open door full way cuz shower is in way.

Nice hotel, parking is costly and it is a bit confusing to find where to go in (that's what he said) but hotel is nice. Bonus to having a Starbucks on site. Also the bar is nice drinks are good.

The location was the best, we were in town for a hockey game and we couldn't ask for a better location
The only stressful part was the parking garage, even though I found it quickly I wasn't sure we were gonna get a spot. But that worked out in the end, a parking attendant helped us find a spot.
