Hotel Guest Reviews of the Magnuson Copper Crown

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Location and price. It is very affordable; albeit a bit dated. Nice pool and whirlpool. Breakfast is continental; standard fare (cereal, orange juice, waffles, etc). The staff is very friendly and courteous.
It is not dirty but a bit worn.

Nice stay for the price.
The parking spaces were way too tight for full size trucks.

Good Value.

The hotel is quite reasonable priced and give you a good value. The beds were ok, and the rooms a little dated, but they are quite clean.
The decor of this hotel needs updating badly. Tube TVs, old carpet, and several decade old furniture is hurts the image of this hotel.

The staff is quite friendly and helpful. I have stayed here several times now, and believe you get what you pay for... a good night sleep, with no frills.

Everything worked and the room was clean. The staff was polite. The price was reasonable for the value provided. Internet access was useful.
The complimentary breakfast choices were limited. Given the price of the room, this was understandable. There was a fair amount of noise from the street, but it was within acceptable limits. The television screen was relatively small/awkward position.

Dining surrounding the hotel was limited.

We had a room with access to a public porch. It had a screen door which allowed us to keep the door open and enjoy the breeze.
The water pressure on the shower head was terrible (out of the faucet and tub spout was fine) and the water kept going from hot to cold.

Close to downtown Hancock with quick access to downtown Houghton. Good parking, including many covered spaces. Pool and hot tub very clean. 3 seconds from Kaleva Cafe - great breakfast & lunch, including gluten-free selections.
Hotel is a bit dated. Room windows don't open. Bed was too firm. No elevator to access second floor.

Great value for the money. Recommend asking for ground floor room for guests with any mobility issues. Mattresses are extra firm. Hot breakfast is nicely varied, and access to Kaleva Cafe is right across the hall from the breakfast room. Great access to area attractions like Copper Harbor, the Jam Pot, Eagle Harbor, Quincy Mine, MTU's mineorological museum, Calumet, Isle Royal Ferry and much more. ...read more
