Hotel Guest Reviews of the Magnolia Hotel & Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The rooms were well-appointed and the location was supreme. The staff even gave us a list of recommended restaurants in the neighbourhood!

So many special touches that made our stay memorable - nightly turndown service, chocolates on the pillow and to welcome us to our room, a full spectrum of Aveda toiletries provided in the washroom, and of course - the free, deluxe continental breakfast!
Parking is $20 a night if you use the valet. Street parking can be cheaper, depending on when you use it, but is poorly marked and rather confusing. Make sure you know if you are parked at a green meter or a blue one - they have different rules!

The room was very comfortable, the location was awesome, no need to drive, well worth the parking fee and walking around. The staff were extremely helpful.
We loved this hotel so much, we were willing to extend our stay. Alas, we couldn't get the same price. They wanted full price for our room, so we packed up and left for Vancouver.

The staff are very helpful, the rooms very comfortable and the Aveda products in the bathroom are very much appreciated. The breakfast is above average, as you have lots of fresh fruit & juices and it is great not having to leave the Hotel looking for a light breakfast. You are within walking distance to rest. and pubs and shopping. As we only stayed one night we were unable to explore as much as we wanted. I would highly recomend this hotel for its location and comfort. ...read more

All the small luxury touches - extended toiletries selection, robe & slippers, proper full bathtub - and of course the free wireless and breakfast was excellent!
Room noise; could hear the TV from the next room, maybe the bed was on the same wall?

Gorgeous classy hotel; definitely on the high end for a four star - all the right small touches in the rooms, a great selection in the attached restaurant for a free(!) breakfast - and free wireless, which is a rarity in better hotels for some reason. Room could have been a bit quieter was the only thing - could hear tv from the next room through the wall, but I understand they're doing major reno quite soon. ...read more

The staff was absolutely committed to customer service. The room and the hotel itself was beautiful. The lounge in the restaurant was quite a nice place to have a drink before heading out to dinner!
The fitness area is relatively small but suited my purposes. You could not have more than 2 people in there at a time though. They do offer passes to the YMCA which would help make up for that.

We had a beautiful and comfortable room. It was right in downtown, walking distance from everything we needed. We would definitely recommend staying there to anyone.

The staff were professional and helpful without being stuffy.
The fitness room was small and poorly lit with equipment that could use servicing.

The breakfast was wonderful. We loved the fresh fruit and light fare that was available. The cold cuts and cheese were a treat. The coffee was good and the hot cereal, waffles, bacon and omelet made it far more than a continental breakfast.

valet parking is a bit expensive, $20 a day, the parking log across the street is half price

The Magnolia is a great boutique hotel. Staff approachability and helpfulness is key at this hotel and makes a stay here that much more enjoyable.

Hotel is a great boutique style in a great location, close to tourist shopping, museum, waterfront, etc. Recommend requesting a (west?) Facing room for a mini view of the parlaiment buildings. There is a small business centre and a workout facility on the 2nd floor with just enough to get in a good workout and a bonus infrared sauna. Free newspaper, nightly turndown with chocolates is a pleasant touch as well...Second stay at this hotel and I really enjoyed it (last stay - Dec eowe for 6 nights) Only con is the 20.00 daily valet charge, but parking is an issue in victoria, so it really is still reasonable. ...read more

Staff was very polite and helpful. Hotel location was fantastic, parked car when arrived didn't get back in until we left.
20 dollars a night for parking wasn't great. (although i think that's most hotels in the area)

Located 2 blocks from the front of Parliament, this luxurious hotel offers large rooms with all the amenities. The courteous, friendly and knowledgeable staff are always willing to help out. If they don't have an immediate answer for you, you can be sure they'll look it up in a matter of minutes to get you where you need to be. Waking up in the mornings to a complimentary breakfast and starting your day is a great way to go, I would stay here again without hesitation. ...read more
