Hotel Guest Reviews of the L'enfant Plaza Hotel
Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.May 8, 2013

I've had doubts about this hotel due to past reviews. But after staying at the hotel, i think it meets expectations for star level. I am not sure why people were very unhappy about this hotel. If you're expecting 5-star accomodations, then you will be dissatisfied. Parking was expensive (but anywhere in a major city is). You can park on the streets for free on the weekends. At least the hotel was clean. No TV when we got to the room but we did not go to DC to stay in the hotel and watch TV (and they were able to give us a TV right away). They also gave us a room with a fridge, which was really helpful to store breastmilk. No microwave though. Having metro underneath also was helpful. Really easy to get to Convention Center. Food court closed on weekends but still well-lighted (not scary going to Metro) and it was bustling with activity on weekdays. ...

I would definitely stay here again. It was an older hotel but very nice and in the best spot for sight seeing around DC! The staff excellent and most helpful. The concierge helped us with some great ideas. The valet Guys were awesome!

Double beds are a bit too small for two adults but comfortable. No microwave. In house restaurants/bar not really very atmospheric, but OK. Good about replacing lost keys, no charge. WiFi should be free. Hotel guests should get a break on the parking.

The hotel was very close to meeting our expectations. It was close to most of the Smithsonian Museums that we wanted to visit. We were satisfied with the food court offerings for our fast evening meals when we returned for the evening. But beware, everything closes around 7 pm.

Although the contractor may have been at fault for the recurring fire alarms, the handling by hotel personnel was very inadequate. My wife and I both have mobility issues which made the emergency evacuation physically and emotionally taxing and potentially dangerous.

Good basic room for family vacation or quick business trip. Starbucks in lobby is cheaper alternative for breakfast. Being above the metro is a huge plus for transiting the city. Think about parking at Reagan Airport and taking the metro in to the hotel. It will probably cut your parking bill in half.

The whole experience was horrible. There was no remote for the TV in the room, every time someone flushed the toilet you could hear the water, the pipes would bang on the walls when someone was taking a shower, I had to fix the toilet because it was broke and the water was running constantly. The desk did not tell you that you had to use the card to activate the elevator so I stood there like a idiot for 10 minutes before another guest told me. The whole thing just made out trip that much worse and I would not recommend this to anyone especially at this price. Oh and by the way, to valet park you vehicle is 50 bucks a night. ...

Even though the rooms need an update to get rid of old wallpaper, drapes, carpet, sink, and bathtub, I would stay at this hotel again. It was clean, and we loved the convenient location, the down comforter on the bed, the comfortable chairs, and the desk in the room was large enough to be useful. The staff was helpful and all in all our stay was great. If you are on a budget for food, the food court under the lobby can come in handy. ...
