Hotel Guest Reviews of the Kempinski Hotel Gravenbruch Frankfurt

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Having to pay a 50 Euro upcharge in order to get a room that wasn't in the next county.

Hotel is not an airport hotel. It is under renovation. Hard to figure out where the reception area is. It is only a two story hotel. Comfort rooms are all the way at the back of the hotel and impossible for someone with mobility issues to get there easily. You can't even drive there. However, you can upgrade for another 50 Euro and get a closer room. Felt like I was getting gouged and didn't really have much choice. Not typical of a 5 star hotel in my experience. ...read more

It is a beautiful setting, and the staff were very accommodating
The hotel is under construction , the grounds are a disaster, it is so large they should give you a scooter to get to your room. Had to check out 15 minutes earlier than usual to walk the 15 minutes to the lobby...well maybe 10 minutes.

This hotel was advertised by Priceline as an Airport hotel. It is not and not assessable by anything other than car or Taxi. We wanted an airport hotel and Priceline should be shot for claiming this property as one.Our Hotel in Frankfurt at Messe was closer and accessible by tram . We spent over $80E in extra transportation taxi charges. We felt for the first time seriously let down by Priceline ...read more

Beautiful country location set in parklike grounds.
Restaurant for dinner was quite a walk. The main one was being refurbished.

I would definitely return to this hotel. Loved the ambiance. Great bar overlooking lake with terrace. Outstanding breakfast. Very well run. Comfortable room with good bathroom.

It was quiet.
The service was stiff and lacking in emotional intelligence. Very long walk fro the room to the elevators. No one helped us with our bags when arrived.

The physical surroundings were pleasant enough but the staff which seemed to consist mostly of short ethnic (non-German) men seemed to have a Napoleon complex. They were cloying and servile to corporate types and took little interest in their other customers. I was dressed casually and ordered a glass of vintage champagne at the bar and it took me 20 minutes to get a second glass from the bartender. I strongly suspect it was because although I am a business traveler, I was dressed casually at the end of a long trip. This hotel is a corporate VP's idea of what a good hotel should be. For us, the status games of the staff made it thoroughly tiresome. ...read more

Lobby bar
our room was 100 yards or more from restaurants and lobby, room needed upkeep, painting, etc

While the hotel is situated in a lovely forrest, it is too far from town and the airport - 20 minutes. The hotel is purportedly 5 start -- not in my opinion. It is very nice but not 5 star. This is an extremely large hotel and we were put at the very end -- at least a 3-block hike to restaurants and lobby. One good point is airport pickup. Our driver/bellman was very helpful and eager to help us. ...read more
