Hotel Guest Reviews of the J.W. Marriott In Mexico City

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. The staff was incredibly friendly and bent over backwards to meet our needs.

I thoroughly enjoyed the architectural character of the building and the pool, sauna, steam and jacuzzi amenities made the stay a real delight.
When I checked in, the staff seemed completely discombobulated by having prepaid for the room on-line. They detained me at the desk, requiring me to email the confirmation email to two staff members. This was embarrassing in front of my girlfriend.

Interiors are standard Mariott decor: a frilly, sheeny conception of luxury I frankly disdain. Exterior, a brutalist formalist tower with flying bridges overhanging a 7th floor pool (nice moves!). My room and the pool overlooked Chapultepec Park's forest which receded into the sfumato white out of DF smog. Enter one way off of Reforma and out the back into Polanco (well located). ...read more

Service and personnel were exceptionally cordial. Location was convenient. Rooms were attractive. Bed and linens were very good.
I have a strong negative reaction to being charged approximately $20. perr day for internet.

I was very impressed overall with the hotel, it's facilities, and it's personnel. The meal we ordered through room service was excellent. Its location was convenient enough to many restaurants, museums and city attractions. Although the facility is undergoing a renovation, it did not detract from the overall positive experience. However, I will not return. I resent being charged approximately $20 per day for internet in the room. It is a strong personal reaction I have to being taken advantage of. There are plenty of hotels nearby that do not charge. Larry ...read more

What I liked best about the hotel was the location.
I don't like the fact that internet isn't included and you have to pay USD $20.00 per day to get internet in your room.

The JW Marriott is located in one of the best areas of Mexico City. From the hotel you have access to public transpiration, good restaurants, night clubs, and the museum of anthropology, Chapultepec, and auditorio nacional are right next door.

What I like most was the courteus service from all service staff.
I was very disappointed about the treatment I received from the reception desk staff, I had a registration with breakfast included but they did not honored my reservation and were very rude to me.

Very nice hotel, I will definitely recommend it even though my bad experience with the front desk staff not honoring my reservation that had included breakfast for two.

Superb service with a fluent English-speaking staff; great A/V ports in room.
No free internet, menu has little local fare.

I stayed at this Marriott for a week of business in D.F. The internet situation was a constant frustration and you would think it should be free. I was shocked at how little Mexican food is on the menu, but there are numerous inexpensive options within walking distance. I've also stayed at the Sheraton next to the U.S. embassy for half the price of the Marriott and the Marriott is not twice as good. I will stay at the Sheraton next time. ...read more
