Hotel Guest Reviews of the J.W. Marriott Desert Ridge Resort And Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Everything.
They didn't let you bring in your own food to the pool area.

Friendly staff, very eager to make certain your stay went as well as could be expected.
Some of the grounds were inaccessible, blocked by gates that read exit only (on both sides).

Priceline price indicated I had paid all fees and taxes. When I checked in the JW Marriot staff told me I had to pay a resort fee of $25, plus tax on that, and that it was not optional.

Everything was nice except the hotel overcharged us and told me to call priceline to handle the matter and I was upset the hotel made me call priceline and I was worried but the people at priceline verified our rate and called the hotel and took care of it for me and I was surpised Priceline took care of everything and it was the day after Thanksgiving and I thought I wouldn't get any customer service help but Priceline picked up and took care of me in no time so I could get back to my pool time! Thanks priceline I will definitely use your service again 2 thumbs up ...read more

The staff was amazing! The Griffin club staff was uber amazing! The hotel is nice and the grounds are incredibly and beautifully maintained! We will definitely come back!
Nothing.

We stayed here for 3 nights for our 10 th anniversary celebration. We arrived at the hotel at 3am in the morning and was greeted by a rep who was very accommodating. We told her that this was a very special time for us having left our 9,7 and 2 year old with family for the first time on an overnight stay in 2 years. We told her we just wanted a room that was quiet and not near streets or elevator as sometimes they do when you book via Priceline. She told us the room was one of the nicer ones. Well it was! It was in a quieter part of the hotel and overlooking the botanical garden. It was not a big space but it had a king size bed, and was very clean and elegant. She also gave us a one day free pass to the Griffin Club, which is a restaurant/concierge area in the hotel where they waiting staff call you by your name and bring you anything you want. Crystal and Steph made this time at the Griffin club a memorable one. What amazing women! The grounds are amazing! So well manicured and maintained, great for taking a stroll with your loved one. The pool areas were some of the biggest and well designed of any hotel I've stayed at. The gym was big and perfect for a quick workout. The staff is incredible! Everyone is amazing! Consistently across the board they are all very friendly and accommodating. Crystal and Steph at the Grifin Club even sent us a dessert plate to our room not once but twice! We ate at Roy's during happy hour and tried all of their apps! The best ones are the waygu beef sliders and the tempura ahi roll. I had a 3$ lager and my wife had a skinny margarita with patron which was very, very good! The restaurant also gave us a anniversary dessert. At Roy's, Alan the musician that performs every week even sang us our first dance wedding song, came to our table and chatted with us, and was just an amazing singer. Thanks Alan! Overall, I will come back to this hotel again, no doubt! Service is really a consistent theme here at the hotel! Thank you JWM! ...read more

The beds are great. It is so good to have an individual, walk-in shower in addition to the tub.
The return air vent in the bathroom was dirty. I did not appreciate paying the additional $25.00 resort fee above the Priceline rate. The self-parking was so far away from the entrance, I was so surprised they did not offer to send a cart to pick us up.

This is a good, above average hotel. Is it really 4-1/2 stars? Perhaps not. The restaurant and bar were good. The additional resort fee above the Priceline bid rate I already had paid seems unfair to me, especially because we were not on vacation. Now, I wish we had bid on something in the price range of of a Hampton Inn because the extra resort fee actually amounted to a tax on a Priceline bid from my perspective, especially because this was not a vacation. The desk staff and bellmen were friendly. The wait staff was excellent. Very good beds. ...read more

beautiful landscape
expensive - resort fee and parking/valet costs

Beautiful, huge resort near lots of shopping and restaurants. Would definitely return, very polite staff, probably was our best priceline experience ever!
