Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Tuscolana

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Irene at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. Luda, who served us cappuccino each day, was gracious and friendly as well. The hotel is away from the city center but close to bus, train, and metro. There's a fruit/veg market nearby.
The room was a little small, but I think this is normal for Rome, where everything is compact. It took a little getting used to, but we decided it was perfect for our needs as we didn't spend much time in the room anyway.

Hotel Tuscolana was just right for our needs. It has a very local feel as there are really not many tourist attractions nearby. Public transportation is a short walk from the hotel. The bed was very comfortable, breakfast was great, and there is free wifi for guests. Next time we come to Italy, though, we will be more fluent in the Italian language. Some of the hotel personnel spoke English, but some did not, and I think in general natives of Rome have the attitude that if you're visiting Italy, you should speak Italian. The hotel was very clean and well-ordered, the bathroom was small but adequate. The shower was a little low on water pressure. There's a safe in the room. Via Appia Nuova is a short walk from the hotel, with many shops to look in. If you go, take a walk up Via Appia Nuova to Re Di Roma. Down one of the streets off of this piazza is the best Tiramisu at a place called Pompi. We stayed two weeks at Hotel Tuscolana and felt we received outstanding value for our money. We would definitely stay there again. ...read more

Great decor, clean and big for European standards. Great Location for public transit access.
The neighborhood is a little industrial.

Its outside of the "walls" of Rome but has great access to the Metro and the Tuscan Train Station. The rooms were comfortable, clean and the bathrooms big for Europe. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was better than average for European standards. It has an elegance about it yet it was simple and very affordable.
