Hotel Guest Rating: 8.9/10
A charming hotel that is ideally located in the heart of the historic old town of Cadiz, which enraptures the traveller with its warm mix of Andalucian, colonial and classical styles.Bedrooms are uniquely characteristic, assuming one of the various styles (Andaluz, rustic or colonial) featured in the hotel, and each is christened with a name of one of the distinct cultures that have settled in the city. The interior decoration has been carefully detailed with Moroccan-style hand-carved arches, water deposits converted into tables and stacked mosaic structures. All this is provided, without compromising on modern commodities such as wireless internet zones and plasma TV. The hotel specialises in serving Mediterranean and Arabic cuisine.Owing to its privileged location, all of the important historic and artistic monuments of the city are easily accessible. It is also well served by public transport, making it easy to reach the popular beach resort of La Caleta and the dock from which tours of the bay are offered on a catamaran. ...read more

We enjoyed the breakfast, the location, the amenities, but particularly the staff. One of us was working and the location was wonderful--walking distance. The proximity to restaurants and other sites also made a difference for the non-working person.

Hotel Argantonio is in an excellent location, close to the Cathedral, many restaurants, the harbor, the beach, and the famous flamenco clubs. If you want to party, there are tons of clubs in the harbor catering to all tastes in music. If you want to eat, there are tons of local restaurants. There are a lot of retail shopping options adjacent to the Cathedral and you can easily walk along the Malecon side of the city to flamenco and other entertainment options. The staff was very considerate and pointed out places to eat, walk, etc. Our room was clean and nicely decorated with Moorish accents. We also saw the top floor suite, which was beautiful, with its own deck, and jacuzzi bathtub. The living room and dining room was tastefully decorated and the continental breakfast was good. All in all, I would make reservations for this hotel again. ...
