Hotel Guest Reviews of the Hotel Ambassador

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

Quality for the price and location. It's a euro-style hotel with the shared bathrooms at the end of the hall, community kitchen, small cozy rooms. It looks dated, it's very appropriate for the solo traveler trying to save money.
Parking in the back was very difficult in the rear of the building. They offer spots for rent, but the parking spots are painted very small. I had a Hyundai Sonata and there was maybe 12 inches on each side, clearance.

This hotel was surprising good. Upon arrival the hotel looks dated and worn, all the paint, fixtures, furniture, etc. is mismatched, but upon closer inspection, the staff kept everything very clean. The kitched and bathrooms were very well kept and there were no signs of bugs or pests (ie. bedbugs, mice, etc.). Also, there weren't signs if pests being an issue, like mouse traps or the such. The room I stayed in was pieced together with an older non-flat screen television, bed, sink, drawers, mini fridge and desk, chair and luggage rest. The windows had bars on them to cover the fact that the window latch was broken. Also the first floor on the east side of the building is over a bar so be very weary of Friday nights and Saturday nights because the only thing that saved me from the music downstairs was my earplugs. They provide towel and linen service, and the frequency depends on how long your stay is. The location was phenomenal. One you drop into the street, you are only 2-10 blocks from parks, restaurants, night clubs, Vancouver library, Vancouver Art Museum, The Orpheum, coffee shops, gyms, and so much more. And it's only a little more to the northwest and you'll end up in Stanley Park. This place is perfect for someone going solo or doing a trip with friends to have an epic adventure. I would definitely stay again. more

Not expensive, clean, fairly quiet inside
My room was on the street. Its windows were in extremely poor condition. They were not closing properly. At night the street was very noisy, there is at least one night club very near the hotel. It was like camping in the middle of the street.

The hotel is well situated downtown Vancouver. It is not new but in a very acceptable condition. Its staff is ok. There is no elevator, and the room are upstairs. There is a parking in the back of the Hotel, but you have to make arrangements to make sure you will be able get out, if you leave early in the morning, because the parking is locked at night. As I mentionned my room was extremely noisy because of the poor condition of the window, but for people who had a room facing the inside court, it was quiet. There were two showers and toilets on my floor. To eat you have to go out, but there are many restaurants nearby. more

Cheap. Great location.
Showers needed cleaning.

Cheap. Great location. You get what you pay for. There's not really anything bad about the hotel, it's just all round bare minimum.

Cheap and conveniently located! Helpful and friendly staff.
Lack of decent parking, no pool, and public bathrooms.

Like a hostel, it's a cheap room to get you through the night or a place to keep your things while you spend the day in the city. If you're traveling on a budget and don't mind sharing the head, it's a great choice. They even have laundry facilities! But if your looking for a swim in a pool, restaurant, or amenities, then look someplace else.
