Hotel Guest Reviews of the Honors Haven Resort & Spa

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The hiking trails was beautiful and outside of the hotel is well taken care off.
The hotel room was old style, everything from the 80's. The "restaurant" only open for 3 times 1,5hr each meal. You only can have a buffet style, the food not good, but eatable, nothing else is around. So we didn't have to much choice.Staff not nice either

The location was what brought us here. Stayed after a Bethel Woods concert and before we needed to be to Troy, NY.
Entry way was dark and unmarked. We arrived at night. The parking lot is not lit. We went to what we thought was registration because the door was wide open and that turned out to be a hallway with rooms. The next door was a hallway. It was the third.

I had read reviews that said it was "creepy". That describes it. Long hallways with no people. Had printed sign that toilet may clog and to call front desk for it. Sure enough that happened.

A lot of space. It was CLEAN.
It did not have the warm welcoming feeling. The stairwell halls were creepy, moldy, dimly lit and walls were filthy. Our room had limited furniture or any real ambiance- so BASIC - just large space with basics. It felt like a large, clean motel.

Boring, Lonely, Creepy- but clean. Very clean. Dimly lit. SAD FEELING. The little staff were professional- but it felt as if they were not too excited to be there. But Clean. As hospitality goes, it didn't feel like a home away from home. It felt like I was intruding in someone else's home that couldn't wait for me to leave. They were trying to pitch a WELLNESS angle but it didn't feel at all wellness driven. They had facilities but no personnel to man them- it felt like walking into an empty airport. I can't pinpoint one thing because there were too many little things that made a FEELING... but as a resort, it was DEPRESSING. ...read more

The exterior appearance as we drove in was very nice.
At 9AM Sunday morning housekeeping attempted to enter our room without notice or knocking. They were unable to enter and left. We promptly got out of bed and left the room for the day by 10AM. When we returned at 9PM the room was unmade and uncleaned.

In brief, if you are expecting a relaxing stay at a hotel with a caring professional staff, this is not the hotel to visit. Workers shouting in the halls at 8AM on a Sunday. Workers attempting to enter your room at 9AM without knocking. Returning from a long day to an uncleaned room with an unmade bed was disappointing. And when I contacted the front desk about this there was no effort to make amends. There are much better hotels in the area at a more reasonable price. ...read more

Location (great view) and staff. Also indoor pool area was nice.
Overall the hotel decor was stuck in the 80's. Very dated public spaces. Dinner buffet was really overpriced for what it was.

We felt we spent too much money for our stay than what it was worth.

The nature walks were nice. It was quiet and peaceful.
Some staff was often unprofessional, at times, crossed the line of rude. Confusion regarding wristbands and packages. There were inconsistencies with rules and regulations and lots of confusing explanations regarding them. The food was not appetizing.

It was unfortunate that this experience was not a nice as it could have been. The location was peaceful, but there were other issues, there were holes in walls they tried to cover up with furniture. Staff was inconsistent with guests regarding rules and procedures, which at times appeared to guest to border on culture and race. Students were there and were often verbally mistreated. The food was uninspiring, and often made some guests feel uncomfortable. The wait staff was polite in the dining area, but the individuals in the front desk were often new, and hot potatoed information around to each other. Ugh. Unprofessional. Hotels are supposed to be an illusion, a diversion, even when on business. You don't want reasons, you want comfort, answers and results when things need to be changed. ...read more

There were virtually no available amenities. It was a hotel but not a resort.

Virtually, all amenities - tennis courts, pool, health club were reserved for groups or camps. There was very little available for unaffiliated guests. The restaurant was adequate but the café had not breakfast foods for two consecutive days. The spa staff was friendly but did not respond to a request for an appointment for massage or facial. In short, if you are seeking a family friendly resort and are not part of a large group this is not the place for you. ...read more
