Hotel Guest Reviews of the Holiday Inn Kensington Forum

Our hotel ratings and reviews are from real hotel guests. Priceline.com ensures that its reviews are guests-only by proactively sending hotel surveys to customers after they've completed their hotel stays. In the post-stay surveys, priceline.com hotel customers are asked a number of questions about their stay and the hotel. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best, the survey asks guests to rate their overall experience and specifically rate the hotel's cleanliness, staff and location. Priceline.com does not allow site visitors to post unsolicited hotel reviews.

The staff were all very nice and welcoming.
I find it crazy that I had to pay so much (or anything at all) for wireless internet in a four-star hotel.

The location in Kensington is perfect for a visitor planning on exploring London on foot. Gloucester Station is less than a three minute walk around the corner, and several tourist attractions are within walking distance. I was able to take the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station very easily and take a cab the rest of the way for very little money. Each staff member that I spoke to was so polite and helpful. My room was small, which was expected after reading other reviews, but it was clean and had everything that I needed. ...read more

Location--1 block from tube station, market, restaurants.

Excellent concierge services. Small but clean room with great view from Kensington to The City. Convenient to about everything including trains.

This was my second time staying at this hotel. The access to the buses and tubes was excellent. The concierges, Henrique and Gladstone, were awesome answering our questions regarding sites to see, best mode of transportation for our activity and confirming reservations for day trips outside of London. The staff brought ice to our room within 15-minutes after the request. Only issue not to our liking was the odd mildew smell in the room. It appeared to be coming from the cold air return vent. Housekeeping responded quickly to our request for air freshener. We did not eat any meals at the hotel because the prices were a little high for us. Breakfast was advertised for 12.95 pounds at the hotel and around the corner from the hotel was a restaurant where the meal was only 5.95 pounds. It would be nice if the hotel provided free internet access. I would definitely recommend this hotel. I will be returning to London in a year or so and this will be my hotel again. ...read more

Location, location, location. The hotel is very close to the Gloucester Road tube stop, and that is an excellent gateway to other tube lines as well. The hotel has multiple eating/drinking venues at decent (for Europe) prices. We would stay here again.
The only thing some people may not be happy with is that the bathroom door is a sliding door, which can be a little "friendly" if people are not, e.g., married, close friends, etc. There is a charge for Internet, but it is not outrageous.

Would be good if the hotel provided free internet access, at least, in the lobby to its customers. A lot of 4* hotels in London do it!

The location is very good. I can walk in 3 minutes to Gloucester Road station and there are Piccadilly line, District line and Circle line. It's easy to go hotel from Heathrow Airport by Piccadilly line.
My room has not refrigerater.

The hotel is close to Natural history museum, Kensington Palace, Harrods, Notting hill and Chelsea stadium.

The hotel had a good location.
The bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked. They didn't offer complimentary wifi. The external windows were filthy - like they had not been cleaned from outside for a long time and the view of the city from the 19th floor was really distorted b

It was ok. Not a memorable hotel, but fairly functional.

I liked the location, close to public transportation, etc.
No--

It was great to find something affordable just a couple of days before New Years' Eve. It exceeded my hopes and expectations.

The staff. They were all excellent, quick, attentive.
I stayed in 2 Holiday Inns while in London and this one had reduced toiletries for the same rating.

Impressive foyer, great staff service / lacked wifi, toiletries for same rating as other hotels in London I stayed (stayed in 3 four-star hotels within 8 days)

They wanted 16GBP per day (over $25) for internet service. At that price I consider the fee predatory.
